Godly friends can refresh your heart in times of need

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for differences … how soft is not hard; sweet is not sour; loud is not quiet. And thank you for the scripture for this prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.  Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say. (Philemon 1:20-21)

Lord, I’m here. It’s me again as usual. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter. Lindsey, this scripture is interesting. Paul is writing to his brother in Christ and tells him that he is confident that this brother he is writing to will be more than just obedient and do more than that required. Knowing him like this was refreshing to Paul. He could feel the joy of the Lord by just knowing this other man. Lindsey, I pray this scripture over you from both sides. I pray that you might be like Paul and have many godly people that you have so much confidence in that you know they will be there for you when most needed. I pray that the Lord would fill you with his joy as you interact with them. May your heart be refreshed. But I also pray that you would be like “the other guy”. I pray that others may see you as THEIR godly friend who they can count on during times of great need. I pray that they would feel God’s joy in them even as they merely tell you about their significant need. And together we glorify God. We give all the glory to him. I pray this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Read scripture out loud. Listen to it being read aloud to you!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for creating this magnificent universe just for us. Thank you for the tiny and for the huge. Huge as in stars… and galaxies! And thank you for the scripture to use for this prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. (Revelation 1:3)

Lord, I’m here. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter. Lindsey, today’s scripture is interesting in that it seems to talk about having scriptures read out loud! This resonates well with me because for over six years a tiny group of us has been meeting every weekday morning in a coffee shop or restaurant to read scriptures out loud around our table. It is quite amazing how much reading a passage out loud helps … especially if you also hear it read out loud TO YOU! And so that seems to be what I am to pray for. Lindsey, I pray that you will be able to read scriptures out loud with a tiny group that you trust. I pray that you will be able to LISTEN as others in the tiny group read passages of scripture aloud.  I pray that speaking and hearing them will bring you further understanding. I pray that this also will be a way to get together with others regularly with God’s Word! And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Do what people want? Or rather do what God wants regardless of the cost?!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for bringing clarity back to my mind. Thank you for promising that I can start each day anew and not have to start where I left off the prior night. Thank you for the day anew with you! And thank you for the scripture to use for this prayer for Lindsey:

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.  And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.  For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.  After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.  And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:  But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.  And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Acts 5:27-42)

Lord, I’m here again on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. She is not afraid to publicly acknowledge Jesus, even though each time it brings a backlash from those watching her. Lindsey, whenever you do this it is significant. People notice when you don’t bow down to public pressure to leave Jesus out of your public life (as if he could be put in a box on a shelf while in the public eye). Lord, I ask that you continue to give Lindsey the courage and strength to keep you in front of her all day long, especially in public. I ask that you grant her the grace she needs to actually rejoice when people put her down for this. I ask that you fill her with your joy and that your joy would make her strong. And we will give you the glory. Glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Do what is right and good that all may be well with you

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the stars at night. It is so amazing to know how far away they are, yet we can see their light even from such a great distance. Thank you for placing Lindsey before the world as a bright flare and for the scripture to use in my prayer for her this day:

And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, (Deuteronomy 6:18)

Lord, I’m here again as usual. I’m here to lift up Lindsey to you. She loves you Lord and tries to do what is right and good in your sight. Help her to realize that many people are watching, see her flare in the night and then look at what she is doing. Lindsey, perhaps doing what is right and good for all to see is your gift to many who are looking at you after noticing your flare in the night. God has gifted you immensely. He has given you much. But much is required from those who have been given much:

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. (Luke 12:48)

Lindsey, God has not given you so much talent and skill to just drop you in the deep end to let you fend for yourself. He is there with you. Any time you feel like faltering just pause and look around you. Pause and remember that God is there next to you and he promised that all will be well with you… just do what is right and good. Easy to see, easy to understand … but hard to do at times. I ask God to provide you with the protection you need in the midst of all the pressure that is on you as someone caught in the spotlight. And together we can give God the glory. The glory is all his. GLORY! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Each week take a day to rest and honor God as you delight yourself in the Lord

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the food I eat. Thank you for what I have to drink. Thank you for sustaining me with your word and with provisions – both! And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. (Isaiah 58:13-14)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lord, today I pray a big prayer for her. She is in the spotlight. Wherever she goes her fans adore her and elevate her. In the midst of this unending praise of her ability and talent she may often feel that she can do whatever she pleases. Lindsey, today’s scripture reminds you to refrain from selfish pursuits. Isaiah was asking the people to remember the sabbath the way that God told them to! Centuries later, Jesus took this even further when he told us that the sabbath was made for us!

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: (Mark 2:27)

And so, Lindsey, I pray that you always will be able to take a day of rest.  That rest was designed for you. Rest in the Lord. And may this time of rest invigorate you and restore your energy. May you find JOY in your relationship with the Lord and may he grant you great prosperity. May you delight yourself in the Lord and honor him above all things. And together we can glory God. Let us give the glory to him. I pray this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Just do it!

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for walking. Yes, thank you for the chance to walk from my house to the bus stop and later from the bus stop to the coffee shop. Thank you for legs and feet that can walk so easily … reminding me how I also am walking with you throughout the day no matter where I am. And thank you for scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said] Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (John 15:14)

Lord, I’m here again. I am here as usual to begin another day’s prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, Jesus would like you to be his friend and he offered you an open invitation. All you have to do is whatever he commands you. So, Lord, I ask that you speak clearly to Lindsey this day. I ask that you clear the static from her mind so she can hear you easily. Give her the courage to actually walk the way that you show her. Give her words when she needs them. Lindsey, listen carefully to hear Jesus speaking to you today, and take him up on his offer to be his friend. Whatever he asks, just do it! And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I ask this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Keep God’s commandments and his joy will fill you!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for another new day with you. Another day anew. Another day starting fresh – no need to start where I left off last night for you tell me to just start each day anew. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey which is one of the two scriptures I have as a foundation for my collection of scriptures that show how JOY and OBEDIENCE are interconnected and intertwined:

[Jesus said] If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. (John 15:10-11)

Lord, I’m here again. Seems like so much to do. Help me keep right priorities. And right now I am ready to pray for your daughter Lindsey. She strives each day to walk with you and to keep your commandments, so I pray that you would speak to her and shower her with your joy so that she is filled to overflowing with JOY. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Do Good… your reward will be great… you will be a child of the Most High God

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for good friends. Thank you for the way friends can help each other and how it just seems natural, just the way it should be. And thank you for another day to remember how Lindsey is your daughter … a daughter of God as I begin 40 days of prayers based on commands and rewards – on obedience and joy!

[Jesus said] But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. (Luke 6:35)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter, who strives to do what is good each and every day. Lord, I ask that you continue to show her your favor, which is a great reward, for we know that you are a gracious God. Lindsey, I pray that you will always find ways to love those who do not love you. I pray that at times you will be able to lend to people expecting nothing in return. And Lord, I pray that you would remind Lindsey how she is a daughter of the Most High, a daughter of God. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Oh what Wonders God has prepared for you since you love him!

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for my health, my heart and my head. Thank you for your word and for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 2:9-11)

This refers to Isaiah:

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. (Isaiah 64:4)

Lord, it’s me. I am here as usual to pray for Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Today I pray wonders over you Lindsey. Just think! Think of all the wonderful and interesting things you have seen on your world travels. Think of all the cool things you have heard. This scripture reminds us that all of it … everything that you have seen and heard can’t compare to what God has prepared for those who love him as you do. And he loves you too! He really does! So, now I pray that God would give you a vision or dream of the things waiting for you. I pray that he would give you just a taste of the wonders waiting for you! And together let’s give the glory to him. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Seven Days Without God’s Word Makes One Weak :)

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for persistent vision which is important to how we see things. Thank you for peripheral vision which lets us notice things we aren’t even looking at. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter and the chance to use word play for the title of this prayer:

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)

Jesus was referring back to the book of Deuteronomy:

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. (Deuteronomy 8:3)

Lord, I’m here. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. She has set a goal to read your Word each and every day, so Lord, I ask that you make her strong, not weak. Lindsey, I also pray that you will also strive to remain humble in the midst of seemingly unceasing flattery from fans, because the glory belongs with God, your generous God who gifted you with so many talents and skills. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
