Be zealous … be zealous for God!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for my breath. Thank you for my life. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. (John 2:14-17)

Yes, this was written in the Psalms:

For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. (Psalm 69:9)

Lord, it’s me. I am here as usual on behalf of your daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today I pray for you to be zealous. I have watched how you are totally zealous for your violin and your music. Zealousness is one of your gifts! And today I pray that this zealousness would extend to your relationship with God. Lord, I ask that you open up opportunities for Lindsey to be zealous for you! And we will give you all the glory. The glory is all yours. I ask all this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Walk before many people with good tidings and the gospel of peace

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the wonder of rain. During a downpour tons of rain fall from the sky. Just an hour before those tons of water were somehow just floating in the sky above us. What a wonder! And thank you for the scriptures for my prayer for today for your daughter Lindsey:

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:14-15)

Yes, it was written in Nahum:

15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off. (Nahum 1:15)

Lord, I am here again. I am here because I love you and love sitting with you. But right now I am here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter who also loves you. Today I pray for your feet Lindsey. May people refer to your beautiful feet that brings you before them around the world bringing glad tidings of good things! Glad and good. May God provide you with many opportunities walk before many people with good tidings and the gospel of peace. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Who in your tour group can serve the others the most? You can win this one Lindsey!

Good Morning Heavenly Father! Thank you for helping me to keep a grateful heart. Thank you for reminding us how important it is to be thankful. And thank you for the scripture to use for your daughter Lindsey:

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Galatians 5:13-14)

This was said in Leviticus:

18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord. (Leviticus 19:18)

Lord, it’s me. I am here as usual to begin a new days prayer for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, you were called to freedom, called to liberty. I pray that you will each day find ways to use your freedom to serve others. I pray that your mind would always be forgiving and your heart would always be loving, even to those who you feel do not deserve it. I pray that you would find ways to compete with those on your tours to see who can serve the others the most. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

We lift up the name of Jesus

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the clouds. Yes, clouds! Clouds are so interesting. People see shapes in them. Then can be fluffy and white, grey and gloomy or dark and ominous. They can change gradually or quickly. Thank you for how they can indicate what kind of weather will soon be at hand. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter you love:

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (Hebrews 1:1-5)

It was said first in Psalms:

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. (Psalm 2:6-7)

It then was said in 1 Chronicles:

13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: (1 Chronicles 17:13)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here to lift up your daughter Lindsey. The scriptures for today are interesting how originally they were referring to Solomon and Saul. However, they are quoted in Hebrews to refer to Jesus! For in the Old Testament the prophets spoke to the people. Now, we see how with the coming of Jesus, HE is the one who speaks to us. And we know that he is still speaking today, even right this minute as we are praying this prayer. It is his name that is most excellent. He took on our sins and died for us, but was raised and now sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high. And it is Jesus that we glorify each day. It is Jesus whose name we lift up. And it is in his name that we pray this prayer. Yes, and all the glory is to him. Glory. Amen.

Guard your mind and heart from the corruption in the world around you

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for sending your Son to be our savior. Thank you Jesus for dying for us. Thank you God for raising Jesus from the dead. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (2 Peter 2:20-22)

Yes, the book of Proverbs does say this:

11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. (Proverbs 26:11)

Lord, I’m here as usual to begin another prayer for your daughter Lindsey. I’m here on her behalf Lord. And today I pray that you would protect Lindsey from getting entangled in the corruption of the world around her, especially since she is in the public eye and is seen as a role model for many. Lord, I ask that you guard her mind and her heart from all the defilements that the world sets before her eyes. I ask that you continue to place godly people all around her. I ask that you show Lindsey some of your plans for her. I ask that you bring clarity to her vision Lord. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Stay true and don’t let your love grow cold

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for another new day… a day anew with you. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) (Matthew 24:11-15)

Yes, Daniel did say this:

10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. (Daniel 12:10-11)

Lord, here I am. I’m here to begin a new prayer for your daughter. Lindsey, today I pray this for us both. It is something I pray for myself often. I pray that God would keep our minds clear so that we can see through any deception. I pray that we not be deceived because by definition when deceived we don’t realize it! That is a scary place and I pray for God to guide us away from it. But today’s scripture also warns us to love much, because as the iniquity and lawlessness increases around us, the love in us can so easily be quenched or snuffed out. So, I pray that God would guard our hearts with his love. I pray that he would fill us with his love and enable us to show this love to those around us regardless of the circumstances. And we in turn will glorify God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Seek after the Lord

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for dexterous hands and fingers. Thank you for the ability to write and to type. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer:

15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. (Acts 15:15-18)

It was written by the prophet Amos:

11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this. (Amos 9:11-12)

Lord, I’m here again. I am ready to lift Lindsey up to you. She seeks after you every day, so today I ask that you let her find you again. Let her find you this day. Let her hear your voice today. I ask that you walk with her and let her hear what you have to say to her for this day. Then I ask that you give her the courage to walk the path you show her. And together we will glorify you Lord. The glory is all yours. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

May God pour out his spirit on you, deliver you and show you great things

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for coffee. Thank you for those who grow it, harvest it and prepare it. Thank you for the coffee shop that serves it each morning. And thank you for the scriptures to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[this is Peter speaking]
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Acts 2:16-21)

Yes indeed, Joel did say this:

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call. (Joel 2:28-32)

Lord, it’s me. I’m ready to begin another prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, today’s scripture is very interesting. We see how Peter, a hard working lifelong fisherman, knows his scriptures. He was able to quote quite a bit of the prophecy made by Joel on the spur of the moment. And I would like to pray what he said over you this morning Lindsey. I pray that as a daughter of God that you too would prophesy as God pours out his spirit on you. I pray that as you call on the name of the Lord that he would deliver you and you would be saved. And we will both give all the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

God asks us to learn something … He desires mercy more than sacrifice

Good morning Heavenly Father. I welcome a new day with you. Thank you for letting me start each day anew, fresh, and not from where I left off the prior night. Thank you for the truths that you have taught me. Please help me to remember them. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Matthew 9:12-13)

Jesus was referring to what was said in Hosea:

For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. (Hosea 6:6)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here to sit with you. And right now I would like to lift up Lindsey to you. She is your daughter you love and delight in. Lindsey, today’s scriptures are interesting in what they are NOT asking of us. Jesus quoted from Hosea to make a point to the Pharisees who had just been mumbling to themselves about how Jesus was sitting and eating with tax collectors! Jesus knew they remembered to offer sacrifices to God, and that was good. However, Jesus reminded them that God was asking more than just sacrifices. God was asking them to show mercy to sinners. And so I pray for us both today. I pray that we would not discontinue making sacrifices for our God, but that we would remember that showing mercy to others is something God desires from us as well. Lord, help us in this. Help us to be kind and merciful to those around us, even when we might think they don’t deserve it. Help us to learn what this means! We need you Lord. Please expand our knowledge of you and your ways. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Remember the humble beginning of Jesus, our Saviour, Lord and King

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for speaking to me during my bus rides downtown. The bus windows were completely fogged/misted over from the inside of the bus being air conditioned and outside warm and humid. It is interesting how water can just appear on windows illustrating how water is indeed part of the air we breathe. Thank you for the many ways water appears before us, as liquid, gas or solid, rain, snow, sleet, hail, steam, mist and dew. And thank you for the scripture for this morning’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judæa: for thus it is written by the prophet,
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. (Matthew 2:1-6)

Micah was that prophet:

But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. (Micah 5:2)

Lord, it’s me again. I am here. I was anxious to be here this morning as I look forward to sitting with you. Now I would like to speak on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter who loves you.  Just as with the wise men, she has seen the announcement of Jesus’s coming and looks forward to worshiping him, as do I. Today’s scripture also reminds us how his coming was not with a royal celebration in the capital city, but rather in a tiny town that scriptures refer to as “least”. Such humble beginning for the Savior, the Lord, the King. Lord, I ask that you help us both to remember this and to strive to remain humble in all circumstances, giving all the glory to you. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
