Have an Understanding of the Times and Know What To Do
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for providing us with food. Not just my family, but our whole neighborhood. Not just our neighborhood, but all the neighborhoods in our city. And not just in our city but in our whole state. And not just in our state but food for our entire country. And not just our country but food for every country. You are an awesome God that can provide enough food for every country in the world today … and every day! Thank you! And thank you for the interesting scriptures to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord by Samuel. (1 Chronicles 11:3)
Then in the next chapter of 1 Chronicles we are told who came to David after he was crowned king! Here is how scriptures refers to each tribe (summary of 1 Chronicles 12:22-40):
- Judah: men bearing shield and spear, ready and armed for war
- Simeon: mighty men of valour for war
- Levi: a young man mighty of valour and twenty two captains
- Benjamin: formerly of the house of Saul
- Ephraim: mighty men of valour, famous in their land
- Half Tribe of Manasseh: men expressed by name to come to make David king
- Issachar: men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do and 200 leaders with all their brethren
- Zebulun: those come from battle, expert in war, with all weapons of war, they were not of double heart, not divided in their loyalty to David
- Naphtali: 1,000 captains and men with shield and spear
- Dan: expert in war
- Asher: those come from battle, expert in war
- Reuben, Gad and Half Tribe of Manasseh: all manner of weapons of war for battle
Lord, I’m here again as usual to begin another days prayer for Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today we see something interesting in how scriptures refer to all the tribes of Israel gathering together to transfer the kingdom of Saul over to David right after he was annointed king of Israel. Review the list of tribes in the summary just above (or the full text below) and you will see virtually all the tribes are referred to as sending men of valour, men bearing shields and spears, captains and leaders with all kinds of weapons, experts in war and ready for battle. They all came to turn over Saul’s kingdom to David. After this list of tribes, scriptures tell us they were all of one heart to make David king! But one thing seems to stand out as each of the tribes are listed. Look at Issachar! Yes, they had 200 leaders and all their people under their command similar to all the other tribes. However, this is the only tribe that scripture mentions one additional qualification, one extra quality. With Issachar came men that understood the times and knew what Israel out to do. And that is a quality that I pray over you today Lindsey. I pray that you can be ready for the battles that you will undoubtedly face, just like everyone should be alert, trained and ready. However, I pray that God would grant you the ability to understand the times. I pray that God would help you to see what is going on in your city, your state, your country. I pray also that God would also fill you with the knowledge of what people should do. Not just what YOU should do, but what the people in your country should do. And now an even bigger prayer. I pray that God would place you in a position where you can speak out what you see and what ought to be done. And I pray that God would protect you as you step out on the path he sets before you, for he will not send you and leave you alone. We know he will be with you every step of the way. Lord, I ask that you would often give Lindsey tangible things to remind her that you are there with her. And we will give the glory to you. The glory is all yours. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
Full Text of Scripture:
For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.
And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord. The children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the war.
Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred. And Jehoiada was the leader of the Aaronites, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred; And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father’s house twenty and two captains.
And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.
And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.
And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king.
And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.
Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.
And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.
And of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.
And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.
And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand. All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king. And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them. Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel. (1 Chronicles 12:22-40)
May God give you wisdom, discretion and understanding
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for watching over me during the night. Thank you for giving me a restful sleep. Thank you for waking me up this morning. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God. Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. (1 Chronicles 22:12-13)
Lord, here I am again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey. She loves you Lord. You have placed her in the eyes of the world so I ask that you also grant her a double portion of wisdom, discretion and understanding. Help her to notice when she starts to wander a bit off of the path you set before her. Since so many people are watching her, I ask that you help her to know when things are appropriate and when they are not. And I ask that you give her understanding so that she may understand all that is going on around her. And we will give you the glory Lord. The glory is all yours. GLORY! I ask this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
We lift up the name of Jesus
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the clouds. Yes, clouds! Clouds are so interesting. People see shapes in them. Then can be fluffy and white, grey and gloomy or dark and ominous. They can change gradually or quickly. Thank you for how they can indicate what kind of weather will soon be at hand. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter you love:
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (Hebrews 1:1-5)
It was said first in Psalms:
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. (Psalm 2:6-7)
It then was said in 1 Chronicles:
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: (1 Chronicles 17:13)
Lord, I’m here again. I’m here to lift up your daughter Lindsey. The scriptures for today are interesting how originally they were referring to Solomon and Saul. However, they are quoted in Hebrews to refer to Jesus! For in the Old Testament the prophets spoke to the people. Now, we see how with the coming of Jesus, HE is the one who speaks to us. And we know that he is still speaking today, even right this minute as we are praying this prayer. It is his name that is most excellent. He took on our sins and died for us, but was raised and now sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high. And it is Jesus that we glorify each day. It is Jesus whose name we lift up. And it is in his name that we pray this prayer. Yes, and all the glory is to him. Glory. Amen.

You are appointed as a Musician to play your Violin Joyfully
Heavenly Father good morning. Thank you for providing us with such interesting weather. Calm and humid and then suddenly extremely windy and cool. Raining hard and then all of a sudden sunny and nice. And all this in just one day. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy. (1 Chronicles 15:16)
Lord, I’m here again. I came to sit with you. I am ready to pray for Lindsey now. Lindsey, I pray today that you would be able to use the many musical talents, skills and gifts with joy. I pray that your concerts would be joyful times for you. I pray that the thousands who come to hear you will hear more than just you. I pray that the love and grace of God will shine through each of your performances. Perhaps God has set you in this place just like how 1 Chronicles refers to musicians being appointed to sing and to play their instruments. I pray that the joy of the Lord would be with you during each day of your tour. And we can give the glory to God. All the glory goes to God. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Working Day and Night, Musicians were free from other responsibilities!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. I welcome a new day with you. I welcome a day anew with you. Thank you for always being with me and for that normal feeling when I feel your presence all around me. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter, Lindsey:
And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night. (1 Chronicles 9:33)
Lord, I’m here again. I am here to begin another day’s prayer for your daughter who loves you. Today I lift Lindsey up to you Lord as a talented skilled musician, day in and day out. Playing her music is how she is employed day and night. And so, Lindsey, today I bless you and ask that the Lord be there to guide you during each and every performance. I ask that the joy and love of the Lord be evident in your music wherever you may go. I ask that the Lord keep you strong in the midst of what scriptures refers to as working “day and night”! May the Lord keep you strong and healthy, in both body and spirit. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Play before God with All Your Might!
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the many colors seen in your creation around me. Thank you for the greens in the grass and the trees. Thank you for the blues in the sky. Thank you for the pinks in the sunset. And thank you for the browns in the dirt and the sand. Thank you for the seemingly unlimited colors in nature! And thank you for the scripture to use in today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the Lord, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it. And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart. And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. (1 Chronicles 13:6-8)
Lord, here I am. I am here again on behalf of your daughter you love. Today I ask that you give her the same passion for you that King David and all Israel had as related in 1 Chronicles 13. They played and sang and danced before you with all their might. I ask that you give Lindsey the opportunity this week do the same … to play and dance before you God. To play and dance before you with all her might! And we will give the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
Skilled, Trained Accomplished Musicians
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for bees. Yes, they can sting, but they are necessary for other parts of your creation. Thank you for allowing us to see how the many parts of your creation can be interdependent on each other. And thank you for the scripture that speaks about accomplished musicians who were skilled and trained, just as your daughter Lindsey is!
All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman. So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the Lord, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight. (1 Chronicles 25:6-7)
Lord, I’m here again. I am here to begin today’s prayer for your daughter. You have gifted her with amazing musical talent and skill, just as those that 1 Chronicles speaks about. I ask that you open doors for her to use her skill and talent in ways that bring praise to your name Lord. She is an accomplished musician, just like Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman. Reveal to her ways that she may bring praise to you through her music throughout the world. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Music is significant! Musicians were appointed by King David
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for flexible and nimble fingers. Thank you for my ability to type so well. And thank you for the scripture that notes how musicians were so very important relating to praising God that the king appointed people as musicians and even those in charge of the sanctuary music:
And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after that the ark had rest. And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order. (1 Chronicles 6:31-32)
Lord, I am here again. I am here to rest with you, to relax with you, to enjoy time with you. And now I would like to pray on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. Lord, you have gifted her with such wonderful talent and skill for music, dance and in particular, playing the violin. I ask that you set her into places where she can use her gifts to praise you Lord. I ask that you provide her with many opportunities to utilize her skill on her stringed instrument to worship you Lord. And all the glory is yours. The glory goes to God! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
