(F) Female Disciples (MANY Good Role Models)
Lindsey, you too are a disciple of Jesus, as you have acknowledged him publicly. I pray that you would stay true to him regardless of circumstances that you may not fully understand, just as his female disciples followed him to the cross, to the empty tomb and beyond. I pray that God would grant you great insight and discernment through all the days of your journey.
Good Morning Heavenly Father. I welcome another day. Another day with you. A day anew … anew with you! Thank you for sleep which lets my mind and body relax and rest. Thank you for waking me in the morning and presenting me with another day filled with your glory and beauty. And thank you for the scripture to use for the letter F, for Female Disciples:
And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. (Luke 8:1-3)
Lord, here I am to pray for your daughter Lindsey. She is one of your female disciples today and so the scriptures for today are very applicable. Lindsey, I pray that you would continue to be a disciple of Jesus. I pray that the women in scriptures would be role models for you. They followed Jesus all the way to the cross and then even to the empty tomb! They ministered to him and supported him. I pray that you too would follow Jesus to the cross and the resurrection and that you too would be a role model for the young women today. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(E) Esther – Courage for a Time Such As This
Lindsey, may you have the courage of Esther, for you too are here for a time such as this. May God grant you the grace to act courageously and wisely. God knows your weakness, your strength and your potential. Have faith in God and in his power, especially when he asks hard things of you.
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the squirrels playing tag in our back yard. Thank you for the birds perched in our trees. Thank you for all your wonderful creation. And thank you for the book of Esther which provides a woman in the Bible for the letter E:
Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? (Esther 4:13-14)
Lord, here I am. I came to sit with you. To sit and talk. And to pray for your daughter Lindsey, who you love. I pray now for you Lindsey. I pray that God would let you know what he has planned for you, as you may be here for such a time as this. I pray that God will grant you extra courage as well as extra wisdom that you will need on your journey. I pray that God would increase your faith in him and in his power, especially when things get hard for you. And we can give God all the glory. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(D) Deborah – Prophetess, Patriot and Poet
Lindsey, may those around you see your godly strength and leadership, just like they looked up to Deborah. May they see the wisdom and joy of the Lord in you and may you be a role model for the young women today.
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the bright sunshine in the morning. Thank you for waking me this morning. Thank you for the godly people you surrounded me with in the morning. And thank you for the woman in the Bible for the letter D – Deborah:
And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand. And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go. And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh. (Judges 4:4-9)
Lord, I’m here again. I am ready to pray for Lindsey, your daughter, based on what scriptures say about Deborah. Lindsey, I pray that you would continue to find your strength in the Lord so that you may confidently stand before others and let your faith shine forth. I pray that the joy of the Lord would fill you and carry you on your walk. I pray that you can write a song just like Deborah wrote “The Song of Deborah”. And I pray that those around you would look to you for godly wisdom. And we will give all the glory to the Lord. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(C) Crippled Woman Glorifies God When Healed
Lindsey, may you be a blessing to the disabled (such as the crippled woman Jesus called forward) and lift their eyes to heaven.
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the stars we can see in the night sky. Thank you creating them, not just a few hundred or even a few thousand, but millions and billions of stars. Thank you for revealing to us how you are an extravagant God. Thank you for extending your extravagance to each of us and our needs. And thank you for the scripture to use for the letter C as I pray through women in the Bible for your daughter Lindsey:
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. (Luke 13:10-13)
Lord, here I am again. I’m here as every day to pray for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Today, Lindsey, I pray that God would provide you with opportunities to minister to those around you who are crippled or disabled. I pray that God would increase your compassion and open your eyes and your heart to the needy around you. May the Lord fill you with joy and may that joy of the Lord be your strength as you meet people on your daily journeys. And we can give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(B) Bleeding Woman – Touched Jesus, Healed by her Faith
Lindsey, may you have faith like the bleeding woman and may you be healed and made whole!
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the new day. Thank you that each day we can start anew. Thank you for my breath, my life, my health. And thank you for the scripture to use as I pray through women in the Bible from A to Z, the scripture regarding the bleeding woman:
And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. (Matthew 9:20-22)
Lord, it’s me again. I’m here to pray for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, I pray that you would have the same faith that the bleeding woman had. I pray that whenever you are in need of healing, that you would ask the Lord to come and touch you, just as the bleeding woman had touched Jesus on that day almost 2,000 years ago. I pray that you would be able to hear Jesus say to you, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(A) Abigail – Wise, Generous, Quick-witted and Blessed
Lindsey, may you have spunk just like Abigail. May you be as generous, quick-witted, wise and blessed as Abigail. May you be a peacemaker as Abigail was.
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for your Word. Thank you for the many people and stories in your Word. Thank you for the story about Abigail as I start looking at women in scriptures from A to Z. Most of her story is included at the end of this prayer, with a few highlights here:
And when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and lighted off the ass, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, And fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, upon me let this iniquity be: and let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak in thine audience, and hear the words of thine handmaid. …
I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for the Lord will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the Lord, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days. …
And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me: And blessed be thy advice, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand. (1 Samuel 25:23-24, 28, 32-33)
Lord, here I am, ready to start the first of 26 prayers based on women in scriptures. I ask for your help and your words in these prayers as I pray for your daughter Lindsey. Today, I pray that you would bless her as David blessed Abigail. I pray that you would grant Lindsey wisdom and quick-wittedness where ever she goes. Let her see situations through your eyes Lord. I also pray that you would help her to know when it would be wise to be generous as Abigail was. Let Lindsey rise up during adversity and any pending crisis as Abigail did. And we will give all the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
