Get Alone! Jesus Often Did!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for being our provider. My family has everything that we need. Thank you for being so generous and help me to be generous today as well. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Once Jesus was famous, he had to withdraw away from the multitudes:

But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. (Luke 5:15-16)

Other times Jesus had to send the crowds away so that he could be by himself to pray:

And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. (Matthew 14:22-23)

And then there were times Jesus would get up early to be alone to pray and left to travel to another town even though crowds had gathered to see him:

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. (Mark 1:35-38)

Lord, it’s me. I’m here as usual to pray for your daughter who loves you. You have gifted her with great talent and skills. And she uses those talents well. So much that she has become famous. And so these scriptures apply especially to you Lindsey! As Jesus became famous we are told that he had to make a point withdraw to secluded places to pray. He needed time alone. And so that is my prayer for you Lindsey. I pray that you recognize the need to get a way and be with alone with your God. At times you may need to dismiss the crowds. At other times you may need to sneak away someplace on your own (though you may want to tell someone where you are going:) Lord, I ask that any time that Lindsey goes off alone to be with you that you would let her know that you are there with her. I ask that you hear her prayers and desires of her heart. I ask that you answer her in a way that she can hear you clearly and know it is you. And we will give the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. Glory. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

You are NOT alone! But even Elijah at times felt alone (but wasn’t!)

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for a new day. Thank you for a new day with you. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey.

God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. (Romans 11:2-4)

Yes, Elijah did say this to God:

And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?
10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. (1 Kings 19:9-10)

And God did reply to him:

18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. (1 Kings 19:18)

Lord, I’m here again. I am here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter. Lindsey, today I remind you that you are not rejected, as Paul said in today’s scripture. I also remind you that you are not alone, just as Paul quoted the story of Elijah in the book of Kings. Elijah thought he was alone. But God spoke to him and clearly let him know that he was by no means alone! I pray this over you today Lindsey. If you ever feel alone, call to mind this story of how even one of the greatest prophets felt totally alone and depressed. I pray that God will speak clearly to you in those times just as he did for Elijah. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
