Radiant!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for coffee. Thank you for a Wendy’s chocolate frosty. And thank you for reminding me to try combining them! The frosty cooled down the coffee so I did not need to add ice cubes. The frosty took the place of the cream. And it even took the place of the sugar. Thank you for a wonderful drink this morning! And thank you for an interesting scripture from Jeremiah for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all. Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. (Jeremiah 31:11-13)
The center piece of this scripture can be translated as being RADIANT when in the midst of the goodness of the Lord!
ESV:
they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord
NET:
They will be radiant with joy over the good things the Lord provides
NLT:
They will be radiant because of the Lord’s good gifts
HCSB:
they will be radiant with joy because of the Lord’s goodness
Lord, I’m here again. I was anxious to come see you this morning when I woke up for I wanted to begin another prayer for your daughter who enjoys singing and playing songs of joy to you. I ask that you find a way for her to come and sing to you today. Let her joy be evident to those around her. Let her glow as she delights in you Lord. Let her be radiant with joy while she is in the midst of your goodness. And we will give the glory to you. The glory is all yours Lord. Glory. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Play and Dance before the Lord with all Your Might!
Heavenly Father, Welcome! Yes, Welcome! Thank you for being with me these last 200 days of praying for your daughter you love, for Lindsey. Thank you for bringing the right scriptures to mind for each of my 200 prayers for your talented daughter. Thank you for filling her heart with your joy and letting it show to all who see her. Thank you for these last 40 days of prayers all based on scriptures about music and musicians. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer as it describes your daughter so well … playing and dancing with all her might!
And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness. And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.
And they brought in the ark of the Lord, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord. And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts. And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord. And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour. Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death. (2 Samuel 6:12-23)
Lord, I’m here again, as usual. I am here to lift up your daughter who loves you with this special prayer. Lord, let her play and dance with all her might before you today. Let the joy of the Lord be evident in her performance. Give her the opportunity to play and dance with all her might, with all her strength and to celebrate before you Lord. Some may wonder how she can be dancing like this before you … but as David said, it was not shamelessly, it was before the Lord! And those common women honored him for showing his intensity in loving his God. I pray this over you Lindsey. I pray that you may have opportunity to play and dance with such intensity before your God. And all the glory is his. The glory all goes to God. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Play and Dance with Joyful Music for the King with other women!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for touch. Thank you for how I can feel the keys as I type to know how much to press on a key and when to stop pressing it:) Thank you for letting my feet feel the ground as I walk so that my steps are sure. And thank you for the pain that I feel at times which instantly alerts me to danger situations such as burning or cutting myself accidentally. And thank you for the scripture about the women singing, playing and dancing with joy:
And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick. And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. (1 Samuel 18:6-7)
Lord, I am here. I am here to lift up your daughter Lindsey and pray for her again as I do each day. And today I ask that you put celebration in her mind and joy in her heart. Show her a way that she can play and dance for you today. Let her feel your joy as she celebrates over you her King! And all the glory we give to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Praise God with Violin and with Dance
Good Morning Heavenly Father! Thank you for the weather! Thank you for the ever changing weather. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. (Psalm 150:3-6)
Lord, I’m here again. I am ready to lift up your daughter you love again this day! I ask that you give her ways to praise you with violin and dance. Let her praise you along with all that have breath. Let her praise you along with all of creation! And we will give the glory to you. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Rejoice! Praise God with Dance! Sing Praise with harp and lyre
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the great variety of food and drink! Today I thank you for coffee (and hot chocolate … and the two intertwined as Mocha). I also thank you for the next scripture to use for my prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. (Psalm 149:1-3)
Lord, I am here to sit with you again, as I begin another daily prayer for your daughter you love. Today I ask that you give her a new song. I ask that you place a new song in her heart and in her mind. Let it be a song of rejoicing. Let it be a song that she can dance to. Let it be a song that gives praise to you Lord, even while others may not recognize exactly why the song seems so “good”. And we will give the glory to you Lord. All the glory is yours. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(U) Unnamed Musical Women – the many happy women of Israel
Lindsey, I pray that you would be just like the many unnamed women of Israel who came out of the cities singing and dancing to the Lord. They played instruments and danced with all their hearts. I see this in you and pray that the Lord would show you ways to continue in this!
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the beautiful trees. Thank you for the bushes. And thank you for the flowers and plants. Thank you for all that you set in front of our eyes! And thank you for the scriptures regarding the MANY unknown, unnamed musical women for the letter U today:
And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick. And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. (1 Samuel 18:6-7)
AND
And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. (Exodus 15:20-21)
Lord, here I am, ready to begin the prayer for today for your daughter! Lindsey, I thank the LORD for the talent and skill that he gifted you with. I thank YOU for knowing to go out and use those gifts. And I pray that the Lord would provide you with many more opportunities to sing, dance and play music to him on your own, with your family and friends and for crowds of people. I pray that you would have the courage to play to him then. I pray that he would give you words when you need them and that he would relieve any anxiety that may try to creep up on you. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(W) Walk (and Dance) in the Light
Today’s prayer seems to be an extra special one … a tiny group of us meets every weekday at a coffeeshop or at Wendy’s from 7-8am to read scriptures aloud around our table … and now and then we pause to share thoughts that we have regarding the scriptures. And today one of the people mentioned dancing to the Lord or dancing for the Lord … and I had to say … wow, that is part of my prayer I was just typing before we started our reading! And so I need to expand this prayer a bit and add a second scripture to it referencing how king David danced before the Lord!
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for a wonderful morning feeling fully refreshed. Thank you for the many things that I can eat and drink, the vast amount, all different. Thank you for showing us that unique can be good! Thank you for being my guide and lighting the path for me to walk… and for the scripture for the letter W for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)
Lord, today it is even more a joy to be here with you than usual. The scripture for today’s prayer is so very applicable to your daughter you love … for she strives to walk in the light not only in her private life but also in public. But today I pray that you would show her how she also can dance in the light. Lord, I ask you to find ways for her to make dancing in the light part of her. Show her the way to do this Lord. Perhaps King David can be an example for her (see the ESV translation to help understand the Old English):
(2 Samuel 6:12-22)
So let there be a celebration, let there be a party, let there be a dancing party. Lord, I ask that you sit with your daughter, that you walk with your daughter, that you DANCE and PLAY with your daughter in front of many crowds of people. Let the dance and the music be to you Lord. Let others know that we can celebrate with all our might before the Lord. Some of those around your daughter may not approve of this, however, but we know that you, Lord, DO approve, and so I pray that you will give your daughter the courage and strength to dance and play before you regardless of what others might say. And we will give all the glory to you. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
