(K) Kezia – Fairest in the Land

Lindsey, today I pray that like Kezia there would be an inheritance given to you. I pray that you would be the fairest in the land (remembering that there is no such thing as a magic mirror!)

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the night sky. Thank you for the heavens at night. Thank you for the moon which gradually changes it’s appearance over the course of a month. Thank you for the stars in the sky and for the constellations that can be made from them. Thank you for beauty in the heavens as well as in the land. And thank you for Job’s daughter Kezia, for the letter K as we go through Women in the Bible:

And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch. And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. (Job 42:14-15)

Lord,  I am here again. I’m here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey, the daughter who loves you! I’m here to begin another daily prayer for her. Lindsey, today’s prayer may be simple, but it is meaningful as well. For today I pray that there would be an inheritance for you, just as there was for Kezia. And I truly pray that you would be like Kezia and be called the fairest in the land. I pray that this would not be something prideful or arrogant, but that you would be fairest as well as gentle, meek and compassionate. I pray that these virtues would be granted to you in combination so that they blend together so that both in the eyes of God as well as the eyes of the world that it would be said no women could be found as fair as you. But we will give the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Blessing: You Shall Inherit the Earth if you are meek

Today is the third blessing from the Sermon on the Mount. Lindsey, I bless you as you strive to remain meek for then you will inherit the earth.

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for language. Thank you for our minds to use language to communicate. Thank you for those who understand more than one language and are able to translate from one to another for us. And thank you for the basis of today’s blessing for your daughter based on the scripture where Jesus said:

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5)

Also … we remember that Jesus himself was meek (also see the definition below):

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Matthew 11:29)

Lord, it’s me again. I am here before you again. As usual, every day, I come before you on behalf of your daughter Lindsey who loves you. And today I am here to bless her. Lindsey, I bless you as you strive to remain meek, just as Jesus was, for then you will inherit the earth! I pray that you will have all the qualities of meekness. I pray that you will remain mild of temper, soft, gentle and not easily provoked. I pray that you will remain humble and not proud. I pray all this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings who we give all the glory! Amen

Meek is defined in the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary http://1828.mshaffer.com/d/word/meek :

MEEK, a. [L. mucus; Eng. mucilage; Heb. to melt.]

1. Mild of temper; soft; gentle; not easily provoked or irritated; yielding; given to forbearance under injuries.
Now the man Moses was very meek, above all men. Num.12.
2. Appropriately, humble, in an evangelical sense; submissive to the divine will; not proud, self-sufficient or refractory; not peevish and apt to complain of divine dispensations.
Christ says, “Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest to your souls.” Matt.11.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matt.5.
