Include joy and music with your sacrifices and offerings to God

Heavenly Father good morning! Thank you for holding all things together. Thank you for being in control, yet always having something for us as well. Thank you for showing us the way you would have us go and lighting the way before us. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for Lindsey, your daughter:

Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the Lord by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the Lord, to offer the burnt offerings of the Lord, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as it was ordained by David. (2 Chronicles 23:18)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here as usual on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter who loves rejoicing in you. Lindsey, today we see how rejoicing and singing are in integral part of our sacrifices and offerings to God. I pray that you always find ways to make your sacrifice and offerings to God and that you can do it with joy and with music. Perhaps you will hear the angels singing along with your music. And we will give the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Welcome God to come – sing and play your instruments (and maintain a childlike enthusiasm!)

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the waves upon the beach. Thank you for the joy they bring to the children. Thank you for the excitement in their voices, in their eyes, in their jumping around. Thank you for reminding us that we are to be like little children if we are to enter the kingdom of heaven*. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey, who is very much like those energetic, enthusiastic children:

Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God. (2 Chronicles 5:12-14)

Lord, here I am again. I am here on behalf of Lindsey again today as usual. I ask that whenever she plays her violin and praises you Lord, that you would fill that place even if it is a concert hall or outdoor music festival! And all the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

*And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3)

Play and Dance with Joyful Music for the King with other women!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for touch. Thank you for how I can feel the keys as I type to know how much to press on a key and when to stop pressing it:) Thank you for letting my feet feel the ground as I walk so that my steps are sure. And thank you for the pain that I feel at times which instantly alerts me to danger situations such as burning  or cutting myself accidentally. And thank you for the scripture about the women singing, playing and dancing with joy:

And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. (1 Samuel 18:6-7)

Lord, I am here. I am here to lift up your daughter Lindsey and pray for her again as I do each day. And today I ask that you put celebration in her mind and joy in her heart. Show her a way that she can play and dance for you today. Let her feel your joy as she celebrates over you her King! And all the glory we give to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings.  Amen (more…)

Let your violin play music to our God!

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the godly people you surround me with. Thank you for the support and encouragement that these others provide to me. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: (Psalm 147:7)

Lord, it’s me. I’m happy to come sit with you today. It is a joy to be with you and to know that you are indeed with me always … now and every step of the way. But right now I pause to lift up your daughter you love. I lift Lindsey up to you Lord. She is extremely talented with the violin as well as with composing music. I ask that you show her how her violin can be singing praise to you. Give her the notes, give her the tune, give her the harmony. And then give her many opportunities to play her violin as a concert to you Lord. For the glory all goes to you. To you is all the glory. Glory!  I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Music is significant! Musicians were appointed by King David

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for flexible and nimble fingers. Thank you for my ability to type so well. And thank you for the scripture that notes how musicians were so very important relating to praising God that the king appointed people as musicians and even those in charge of the sanctuary music:

And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after that the ark had rest. And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order. (1 Chronicles 6:31-32)

Lord, I am here again. I am here to rest with you, to relax with you, to enjoy time with you.  And now I would like to pray on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. Lord, you have gifted her with such wonderful talent and skill for music, dance and in particular, playing the violin. I ask that you set her into places where she can use her gifts to praise you Lord. I ask that you provide her with many opportunities to utilize her skill on her stringed instrument to worship you Lord. And all the glory is yours. The glory goes to God! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

(U) Unnamed Musical Women – the many happy women of Israel

Lindsey, I pray that you would be just like the many unnamed women of Israel who came out of the cities singing and dancing to the Lord. They played instruments and danced with all their hearts. I see this in you and pray that the Lord would show you ways to continue in this!

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the beautiful trees. Thank you for the bushes. And thank you for the flowers and plants. Thank you for all that you set in front of our eyes! And thank you for the scriptures regarding the MANY unknown, unnamed musical women for the letter U today:

And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick. And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. (1 Samuel 18:6-7)

AND

And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. (Exodus 15:20-21)

Lord, here I am, ready to begin the prayer for today for your daughter! Lindsey, I thank the LORD for the talent and skill that he gifted you with. I thank YOU for knowing to go out and use those gifts. And I pray that the Lord would provide you with many more opportunities to sing, dance and play music to him on your own, with your family and friends and for crowds of people. I pray that you would have the courage to play to him then.  I pray that he would give you words when you need them and that he would relieve any anxiety that may try to creep up on you. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
