Seek good so the Lord will be with you

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for musical chords. Thank you for melodies. Thank you for harmony. Thank you for the many sounds that can combine into a pleasing sound we call music. And thank you for this scripture for today’s prayer for Lindsey:

Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph. (Amos 5:14-15)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here as usual to begin another daily prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, since you desire God to be with you, this scripture points out that you simply should seek good and not evil. Hate the evil and love the good. While this is quite simple to say, it can be rather difficult in while you are out in the world. So I pray that the Lord would continue to be your guide to point out the good path before you. I pray that you would clearly see the choices before you to determine the good. I pray that you continue to always seek good. And then I ask God to be with you. I ask God to make his presence with you obvious to you and that it would bring you great joy. Lindsey, your God is gracious. May he clearly be gracious to you this day! And we will give the glory to God. GLORY! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Do what people want? Or rather do what God wants regardless of the cost?!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for bringing clarity back to my mind. Thank you for promising that I can start each day anew and not have to start where I left off the prior night. Thank you for the day anew with you! And thank you for the scripture to use for this prayer for Lindsey:

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.  And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.  For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.  After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.  And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:  But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.  And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Acts 5:27-42)

Lord, I’m here again on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. She is not afraid to publicly acknowledge Jesus, even though each time it brings a backlash from those watching her. Lindsey, whenever you do this it is significant. People notice when you don’t bow down to public pressure to leave Jesus out of your public life (as if he could be put in a box on a shelf while in the public eye). Lord, I ask that you continue to give Lindsey the courage and strength to keep you in front of her all day long, especially in public. I ask that you grant her the grace she needs to actually rejoice when people put her down for this. I ask that you fill her with your joy and that your joy would make her strong. And we will give you the glory. Glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
