Undeniable Fact! NOT!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for the sunrise and the sunset. Thank you for holding everything together in what was called the Colossian Force (through Jesus, referencing Colossians 1:16-17). And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And when the town clerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter? Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly. (Acts 19:35-36)
Lord, it’s me. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. And today’s scripture reminds us how sometimes undeniable facts are actually not facts at all! And so Lindsey, today I pray that God would keep your eyes open to see what is really true. I pray that you would be able to recognize facts that are not. I pray that anytime something deceptive is before you that God would bring the real truth to your mind. I pray that you would have eyes that see. And together we can give God the glory. All the glory is his! Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
Define CONSIST: to cohere, hold together
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (Colossians 1:16-17)
Do what people want? Or rather do what God wants regardless of the cost?!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for bringing clarity back to my mind. Thank you for promising that I can start each day anew and not have to start where I left off the prior night. Thank you for the day anew with you! And thank you for the scripture to use for this prayer for Lindsey:
And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Acts 5:27-42)
Lord, I’m here again on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. She is not afraid to publicly acknowledge Jesus, even though each time it brings a backlash from those watching her. Lindsey, whenever you do this it is significant. People notice when you don’t bow down to public pressure to leave Jesus out of your public life (as if he could be put in a box on a shelf while in the public eye). Lord, I ask that you continue to give Lindsey the courage and strength to keep you in front of her all day long, especially in public. I ask that you grant her the grace she needs to actually rejoice when people put her down for this. I ask that you fill her with your joy and that your joy would make her strong. And we will give you the glory. Glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Seek after the Lord
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for dexterous hands and fingers. Thank you for the ability to write and to type. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer:
15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. (Acts 15:15-18)
It was written by the prophet Amos:
11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this. (Amos 9:11-12)
Lord, I’m here again. I am ready to lift Lindsey up to you. She seeks after you every day, so today I ask that you let her find you again. Let her find you this day. Let her hear your voice today. I ask that you walk with her and let her hear what you have to say to her for this day. Then I ask that you give her the courage to walk the path you show her. And together we will glorify you Lord. The glory is all yours. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
May God pour out his spirit on you, deliver you and show you great things
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for coffee. Thank you for those who grow it, harvest it and prepare it. Thank you for the coffee shop that serves it each morning. And thank you for the scriptures to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
[this is Peter speaking]
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Acts 2:16-21)
Yes indeed, Joel did say this:
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call. (Joel 2:28-32)
Lord, it’s me. I’m ready to begin another prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, today’s scripture is very interesting. We see how Peter, a hard working lifelong fisherman, knows his scriptures. He was able to quote quite a bit of the prophecy made by Joel on the spur of the moment. And I would like to pray what he said over you this morning Lindsey. I pray that as a daughter of God that you too would prophesy as God pours out his spirit on you. I pray that as you call on the name of the Lord that he would deliver you and you would be saved. And we will both give all the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Be one who admires! Be one who praises!
Despiser (despise) – Antonym: one who admires (admire) [dictionary]
Scoffer (scoff) – Antonym: one who praises (praise) [dictionary]
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for our minds. Thank you for minds that can see and wonder. Thank you for minds that can see letters and make out words; that can see words and make out sentences; that can see sentences and make out complete thoughts. Thank you for how our minds can understand what we see! And thank you for the scripture in the New Testament that refers back to several prophets of the Old Testament!
40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you. (Acts 13:40-41)
A prophet who spoke of this was Habakkuk:
5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. (Habakkuk 1:5)
2 Kings refers to prophets also saying this:
10 And the Lord spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
11 Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
12 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle. (2 Kings 21:10-12)
Jeremiah also spoke of God doing something so unbelievable that it makes your ears tingle:
3 And say, Hear ye the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle. (Jeremiah 19:3)
And so did Samuel:
11 And the Lord said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. (1 Samuel 3:11)
Lord, it’s me again. I’m here to pray for Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today’s scriptures are quite interesting. On the one hand, the prophets of the old announced to the people that God was about to do something that would seem unbelievable to them, something that would make their ears tingle! The book of Acts tells about what Paul said in the Synagogue in Antioch, and how he used what the prophets of old had announced as a WARNING to those he was speaking to. Perhaps this can be a warning to us as well, Lindsey. Paul gave his warning to the “despisers” and the “scoffers”. He warned them and even said to take care that what the prophets spoke about does not happen to them! And who was the “them”? The despisers and scoffers! So, today I pray for you Lindsey. I pray that you would not be a scoffer nor a despiser. I pray that you would not be one who despises nor one who scoffs. I pray that you strive to be the opposite of this. Yes! I pray that you would be one who admires; one who praises! Lord, I ask that you give Lindsey many opportunities to show how she is one who admires and praises. And we will give the glory to you Lord. All the glory is yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Worship and Serve only God
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the bright sunshine this morning. Thank you for the crisp cool morning that includes a bit of warmth from the sun already! And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Luke 4:6-8)
Lord, I’m here to lift up your daughter Lindsey. You have greatly gifted her with skill and talent in music and performing. She is using those skills and talents wisely Lord and you have shown her favor wherever she goes. Thank you for this Lord. We both thank you for this! The initial scripture for this prayer refers to our need to worship only the Lord, and so we do. We worship you Lord. However, your daughter seems to be in a peculiar situation. Her performances are so good that many people appear to be worshiping her! This is not how you want it, Lord, as seen by this scripture that came to mind just now:
And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. (Acts 10:25-26)
So, Lindsey, perhaps my prayer is in two parts this day. For next I pray that the Lord would help you see when others are misplacing their worship by worshiping you, who are only a woman, merely a human being like them. I pray that the Lord would help you to find ways to pull them up and redirect them to worshiping the one true God rather than a great violinist. I pray that you will find ways to point to Jesus when they look upon you in awe and worship. I don’t know how you can do this. But I trust that God knows, and that God will share this with you. I pray that he would let you know clearly and that you would hear him clearly and see what you can do. And I pray that you would then have the courage to actually do what he is asking of you. And we both will give all the glory and worship to God and only to God. All the glory is his. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(P) Priscilla – Unafraid of Controversy from a Faithful Life
Lindsey, today was the day that my computer crashed. I had to do a factory reset on it, followed by over 150 Windows updates and then reinstall a few of my programs. I thought that I had written the prayer for you after that but it seems like I was too distracted and forgot. However, you know that you are in my prayers all day long, so only the written one was missed, and I will do double duty for today!
And so … now I pray that you would be unafraid of any controversy that may result from your leading a fully faithful life, just as Priscilla was so committed to a faithful life that she risked her life for Paul’s sake! I pray that God would be your guide, your strength and your protector and that he would grant you more wisdom and discernment this week!
Heavenly Father, good morning as I reflect back a day. I recall your generosity through the day. I recall that you were there with me always. I remember how you promised to never leave me. Thank you Lord. And thank you for the story of Priscilla who stepped out in faith even as far as having the church meet in her house, as your scriptures relay to us:
The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. (1 Corinthians 16:19)
and she even opened her home as the place for Paul to stay:
After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. (Acts 18:1-3)
and Paul remembers how she risked her life for him:
Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. (Romans 16:3-4)
Lord, I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. I pray that you would give her opportunities to be generous and share her home with others. I pray that you would grant Lindsey more understanding about your Word and about Jesus and that she could clarify the full truth for others. And I pray for God’s protection over you Lindsey whenever you lay your life on the line for someone else. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(L) Lydia – Support and Encouragement
Lindsey, today I pray that you would be bit like Lydia. I pray that you would be able to support and encourage the people God puts in your path. I pray that you even would offer a temporary place to stay for those on a godly mission, just like Lydia begged Paul and his companions to stay at her house!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. I welcome this day with you. I welcome this for it is a day you have made. The sun rises as you ask it to. The sunrise itself is majestic and full of your glory. What artist could devise a more majestic start for the day? Thank you for the bits of your glory that you place all around us. And thank you for Lydia who welcomed Paul into her home as the woman in the Bible for the letter L:
And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us. (Acts 16:15)
Lord, I am here again. I have come to sit with you and to pray once more for your daughter Lindsey. I pray that you would fill her heart as you had filled Lydia’s heart. I pray that you would give Lindsey opportunities to support and encourage others and even the chance to offer her home as a place godly people on a mission could stay! And all the glory is yours lord. The glory is all yours! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
