(P) Priscilla – Unafraid of Controversy from a Faithful Life
Lindsey, today was the day that my computer crashed. I had to do a factory reset on it, followed by over 150 Windows updates and then reinstall a few of my programs. I thought that I had written the prayer for you after that but it seems like I was too distracted and forgot. However, you know that you are in my prayers all day long, so only the written one was missed, and I will do double duty for today!
And so … now I pray that you would be unafraid of any controversy that may result from your leading a fully faithful life, just as Priscilla was so committed to a faithful life that she risked her life for Paul’s sake! I pray that God would be your guide, your strength and your protector and that he would grant you more wisdom and discernment this week!
Heavenly Father, good morning as I reflect back a day. I recall your generosity through the day. I recall that you were there with me always. I remember how you promised to never leave me. Thank you Lord. And thank you for the story of Priscilla who stepped out in faith even as far as having the church meet in her house, as your scriptures relay to us:
The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. (1 Corinthians 16:19)
and she even opened her home as the place for Paul to stay:
After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. (Acts 18:1-3)
and Paul remembers how she risked her life for him:
Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. (Romans 16:3-4)
Lord, I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. I pray that you would give her opportunities to be generous and share her home with others. I pray that you would grant Lindsey more understanding about your Word and about Jesus and that she could clarify the full truth for others. And I pray for God’s protection over you Lindsey whenever you lay your life on the line for someone else. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(M) Mary Magdalene (followed Jesus to the End and the Risen New Life)
Lindsey, I pray that you would have a devotion to Jesus like that of Mary Magdalene. She followed him, ministered to him and cared for him. She stuck with him right to the foot of the cross. She was there when he was buried. And she was there when the stone rolled away and was the first witness to the resurrection. Yes, I pray that like Mary Magdalene you would follow Jesus wherever he leads you.
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for smells. Yes, outside there is the smells of a new morning dawning and inside the smells of coffee and cinnamon pastries. Outside it can get quite windy while inside it is always calm. Thank you for all that is inside and out! And thank you for the scriptures relating to Mary Magdalene, the woman in the Bible for the letter M:
There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem. (Mark 15:40-41)
Lord, yep, it’s me. I am back again as usual. I am ready to pray for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, I pray that your journey always will include Jesus, that you would acknowledge him where ever you go. While you haven’t witnessed his life, his death and his resurrection, you can witness for him by your life, your light and your laugh. And we can give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(L) Lydia – Support and Encouragement
Lindsey, today I pray that you would be bit like Lydia. I pray that you would be able to support and encourage the people God puts in your path. I pray that you even would offer a temporary place to stay for those on a godly mission, just like Lydia begged Paul and his companions to stay at her house!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. I welcome this day with you. I welcome this for it is a day you have made. The sun rises as you ask it to. The sunrise itself is majestic and full of your glory. What artist could devise a more majestic start for the day? Thank you for the bits of your glory that you place all around us. And thank you for Lydia who welcomed Paul into her home as the woman in the Bible for the letter L:
And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us. (Acts 16:15)
Lord, I am here again. I have come to sit with you and to pray once more for your daughter Lindsey. I pray that you would fill her heart as you had filled Lydia’s heart. I pray that you would give Lindsey opportunities to support and encourage others and even the chance to offer her home as a place godly people on a mission could stay! And all the glory is yours lord. The glory is all yours! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(F) Female Disciples (MANY Good Role Models)
Lindsey, you too are a disciple of Jesus, as you have acknowledged him publicly. I pray that you would stay true to him regardless of circumstances that you may not fully understand, just as his female disciples followed him to the cross, to the empty tomb and beyond. I pray that God would grant you great insight and discernment through all the days of your journey.
Good Morning Heavenly Father. I welcome another day. Another day with you. A day anew … anew with you! Thank you for sleep which lets my mind and body relax and rest. Thank you for waking me in the morning and presenting me with another day filled with your glory and beauty. And thank you for the scripture to use for the letter F, for Female Disciples:
And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. (Luke 8:1-3)
Lord, here I am to pray for your daughter Lindsey. She is one of your female disciples today and so the scriptures for today are very applicable. Lindsey, I pray that you would continue to be a disciple of Jesus. I pray that the women in scriptures would be role models for you. They followed Jesus all the way to the cross and then even to the empty tomb! They ministered to him and supported him. I pray that you too would follow Jesus to the cross and the resurrection and that you too would be a role model for the young women today. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(C) Crippled Woman Glorifies God When Healed
Lindsey, may you be a blessing to the disabled (such as the crippled woman Jesus called forward) and lift their eyes to heaven.
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the stars we can see in the night sky. Thank you creating them, not just a few hundred or even a few thousand, but millions and billions of stars. Thank you for revealing to us how you are an extravagant God. Thank you for extending your extravagance to each of us and our needs. And thank you for the scripture to use for the letter C as I pray through women in the Bible for your daughter Lindsey:
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. (Luke 13:10-13)
Lord, here I am again. I’m here as every day to pray for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Today, Lindsey, I pray that God would provide you with opportunities to minister to those around you who are crippled or disabled. I pray that God would increase your compassion and open your eyes and your heart to the needy around you. May the Lord fill you with joy and may that joy of the Lord be your strength as you meet people on your daily journeys. And we can give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(B) Bleeding Woman – Touched Jesus, Healed by her Faith
Lindsey, may you have faith like the bleeding woman and may you be healed and made whole!
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the new day. Thank you that each day we can start anew. Thank you for my breath, my life, my health. And thank you for the scripture to use as I pray through women in the Bible from A to Z, the scripture regarding the bleeding woman:
And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. (Matthew 9:20-22)
Lord, it’s me again. I’m here to pray for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, I pray that you would have the same faith that the bleeding woman had. I pray that whenever you are in need of healing, that you would ask the Lord to come and touch you, just as the bleeding woman had touched Jesus on that day almost 2,000 years ago. I pray that you would be able to hear Jesus say to you, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Lindsey, if you hear God knocking, open the door quickly!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for another day with you. Thank you for your promise to be with me always. However, before I begin praying for your daughter Lindsey, may I first ask if you would grant me rest. I need rest right now Lord. But now let me look at the scripture you gave me for my prayer this day for Lindsey:
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
Lord, I’m glad to be sitting with you now. It is a high point of my day (as always). And right now I lift up Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Lord, if you are knocking on her door for something, I ask that you knock loudly and continually till she hears and opens the door to you. Then I ask that you have a wonderful meal together, laughing and sharing stories as you let her know the path that you are setting before her. But I also ask that you show her how compassionate you are. Grant her mercy. And we will give the glory to you. The glory is all yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
A chance to reconsider what God has asked of you and to do it
Heavenly Father, good morning. It finally is feeling like Spring. Thank you for the change of seasons. Thank you for the winter that helps me to appreciate spring more. Thank you for your Word and for the stories that Jesus told, even the ones that I don’t think I fully understand yet (and I ask you for further understanding). And thank you for this particular story that I think I finally figured out, at least partially:
But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. (Matthew 21:28-31a)
Lord, it’s me. Here I am! You asked me to pray and to keep on praying for your daughter you love so much. And so I am. I am praying another prayer for you today Lindsey. Today I believe I am to pray that you jump at the chance to do something God has asked you before but somehow never got done. Or the chance to go somewhere God asked you before but that you hesitated and didn’t go. I am praying for you today Lindsey, that you recognize this and jump at the chance that God gives you to reconsider and do it now (even though previously you had told him “no” or “I can’t”). And I pray that the Lord would give you the courage to do just that. I pray that he would show you the path you need to take and that he would make it very clear to you. I pray that obstacles would be removed for you. And I pray that God would give you the words when you need them. And we will give all the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Look out for the interests of others
Heavenly Father, hello. Thank you for the heart of compassion. Thank you for a humble love for others. Thank you for eyes to see that which is not visible. And thank you for the scripture that is the basis of today’s prayer for Lindsey, you daughter:
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (Philippians 2:4)
Lord, I am pleased to be here. I am happy that you call me to come sit with you every day so that I can pray for your daughter Lindsey. It is a joy to lift Lindsey up to you Lord. I pray that you extend the compassion in her heart. I pray that you enhance her vision to see that which is not visible. I ask that you help her to look out for the interest of others ahead of her own interests. I pray that those who are watching her will see this and want to do the same! And we will give all the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Lindsey, continue being childlike as you are a walking Gospel even to people who don’t realize it
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for flowers. Thank you for the tulips that we have in a vase in our kitchen. And thank you for the wonder before our grandkids eyes when we put blue food coloring in the water in the vase and the next day the white tulips were turning blue and the yellow tulips turning a bit green. Thank you for children who can show us how we should look at the kingdom of heaven. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24:14)
Lord, I’m here again, and what a joy to know that you will be here when I come to sit with you. I am ready to pray for your daughter that you love! Lindsey, you are already going into all the world and all nations. I pray that everywhere you go you can just continue being you, and that the gospel will shine forth without any extra effort on your part. I pray that just being you will reveal your zeal for your God and that it would be something that others want to have as well. You can join with the children who also reveal aspects of the kingdom, for Jesus told us to be like the little children! And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
Added Scriptures:
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3)
and
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:14)
