The Lord Is Doing Great Things. Do You See Them?

Heavenly Father. What an amazing universe you created just for us! You could have splashed a few hundred (or even a few thousand) stars around the heavens for us to see at night – but you are bigger than that and far more extravagant! So you filled the heavens with billions of stars – likely more that we cannot see than that we can see! What a glorious gift for our nights! Thank you for showing us your glory in this way! And thank you for your daughter Lindsey and the scriptures you gave me for this prayer for her this day:

Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things (Joel 2:21)

and one of my favorite passages that says “See what God has done!”

according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought! (Numbers 23:23b)

Lord, it is me again. I have come before you on behalf of Lindsey every day for a year now, and today my prayer for your daughter you love ends with scriptures that reminds us that you will do great things for her. We are reminded that you already have done great things for her. And so, Lindsey, I close one year of prayers with that reminder. I pray that each and every day you would always remember some of the great things that God has done for you. And I pray that each day you also would expect even more. God is a gracious and generous God, so be glad and rejoice, for he will continue to do great things for you. Why? Because he loves you! After all, you ARE his daughter! And so we now give all the glory to God. The glory is all to him. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Seeing what God HAS done helps us realize that nothing is impossible for him!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for being my provider. Thank you for always providing for my family. Thank you for our meals, our home, our car, our clothes. Thank you for your presence here with us. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

For with God nothing shall be impossible. (Luke 1:37)

Sometimes it is hard to see how that can be true. So that is why we need to remember what he already HAS done:

What hath God wrought! (Numbers 23:23b)

Lord, it’s me. I’m here to lift up your daughter Lindsey to you again. I ask that you continue to do wonders before her very eyes. Let her see you do things that she KNOWS just has to be you. Let her say “See what God has done”! I pray that you let these past examples of your wonders and might will help Lindsey to know that there is nothing that you cannot do Lord. Nothing is impossible for you God. And the scripture below sums both up nicely as it something told to the Israelites AFTER they have been delivered out of Egypt through the middle of the Red Sea and after all the miracles performed before Pharaoh. God told Moses that he has seen nothing yet! God told Moses to expect to see even greater marvels and wonders! Lord, let Lindsey see what marvels you have already done. But also let her eagerly expect even greater wonders to come. Let us both say, “See what God will do!” And all the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

NOTE: I paused in the middle of writing this prayer for an hour of reading scripture around a table at Wendy’s and this scripture popped up (seems to consolidate both scriptures for this prayer):

And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the Lord: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee. (Exodus 34:10)

Gladness can accompany times of sacrifice and offerings

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for watching over me during the night and refreshing me when I wake so that I can start the day anew with you. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God. (Numbers 10:10)

Lord, I’m here. I am here to lift Lindsey up to you. She loves you Lord. She tells people how she loves you! Lindsey, this scripture from my favorite book helps remind us that our sacrifices and offerings to God are not a drudgery. I pray that you would be the one it speaks of. That you would be there with your violin, playing a joyful tune or praise and thanksgiving to God just as the Israelites did with the sound of trumpets. May the Lord hear your joyful tune and see your thankful heart. May God come close to you at these times. May you feel his presence with you during your times of offering, sacrifice and special festivals! And we will give the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Walk with Integrity! Let your YES be YES and your NO be NO.

Good Morning Heavenly Father! Thank you for my breath and my life. Thank you for my food this day. Thank you for my home and my family. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: (Matthew 5:33)

This is what was said in the old time (and from my favorite book of the Bible):

If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth. (Numbers 30:2)

Here is the full context – to be sure NOT to take this out of context:

33 [Jesus said] Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. (Matthew 5:33-37)

Lord, I’m here again. I am here and enjoying sitting with you. Thank you for speaking to me yesterday and arranging things for me. But right now I am here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, today’s scripture God gave me for the basis of your prayer is interesting. First Jesus refers to oaths and vows that are part of the Old Testament scriptures. But then he continues by saying that now you need only to say YES or to say NO. That your word should be enough, no need to swear by heaven or anything else. And so that is my prayer. Lindsey, I pray that you would continue to be a woman of integrity. I pray that your reputation would precede you. I pray that people will just know that when you say Yes that you indeed mean Yes. And likewise that when you say No, you mean No.  I pray that likewise, you continue walking in integrity, doing what you say you will do, and refraining from all that you say no to. I pray that God would grant you the ability to know when to say YES and when to say NO. I pray that he would grant you great discernment. And I pray that God would then grant you the courage needed to actually do what you said you would do. I pray that things that distract you would fade and that your goal would glow bright before you. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory goes to him. I pray this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Blessing – the Lord be gracious unto you

Lindsey, I bless you this day with a blessing from my favorite book of the Bible!

Heavenly Father, thank you for smiles. We are in your image and we can smile. What an amazing thing, a smile. Thank you for all the smiles I will see today! And thank you for the blessing today that comes from my favorite book of the Bible, Numbers:

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)

Lord, it’s still me. I am here on behalf of your daughter who loves you. Today I ask that you bless her in the way that you asked Aaron to bless your people. Lindsey, today I pray that blessing over you.

May the Lord bless you Lindsey, and keep you and take good care of you.
May the Lord’s face shine upon you and may he be kind and gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance on you. May he look on you with favor and give you peace.

And we give all the glory to the Lord. All the glory. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
