Only the Best for the Lord’s Temple and the Musicians
Heavenly Father, what a wonderful creation you made. All the stars, planets and moons in the universe and everything on this earth. All the birds and animals as well as all the plants and trees. And the scripture for my prayer is centered around a very specific tree, a tree that King Solomon consider the finest, the best! Thank you for creating so many trees. Two years ago Science Magazine had a short article about the new archive database that researchers and scientists have compiled that catalogs over 60,000 trees! Thank you for being a God of order and a God of fine detail. It is amazing that you created this earth with such a huge variety of everything! Your handiwork is there before our eyes as witnessed by botanical experts! And so this validates the scripture (Romans 1:18-20 – see below) that says people are without excuse when they try to claim to not know about God. Yes, Lord, you have made yourself quite evident in your creation … even in our world’s trees! Thank you for such an extensive and exquisite creation made just for us! And thank you for the scripture that speaks of just ONE of the thousands of trees:
With the timber the king made supports for the Lord ’s temple and for the royal palace and stringed instruments for the musicians. No one has seen so much of this fine timber to this very day. (1Kings 10:12 NET)
or the ESV translation (similar to KJV):
And the king made of the almug wood supports for the house of the Lord and for the king’s house, also lyres and harps for the singers. No such almug wood has come or been seen to this day. (1Kings10:12 ESV)
Lord, I’m here. I’ve been here with you for quite some time, pondering these magnificent trees! And while each tree is beautiful, there was ONE tree that Solomon thought was best for the Temple. Perhaps thus we can refer to it as one of the royal trees. And now I lift up your daughter Lindsey. She is a fine musician, just like the royal musicians that the Scripture references. And she too has wooden stringed instruments made in the finest way. She has beautiful custom made violins. Lindsey, I pray this scripture over you this day. I pray that you would find ways to praise and honor the Lord with your fine stringed instruments. I pray that you would continue using the wonderful talents and skills that the Lord has gifted you with. I pray that your music would be royal, that it would be a delight for the Lord to hear. And together let us praise the Lord. Let us give HIM the glory! All the glory is his! I pray this over you in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen.
King James Version for your reference:
And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the Lord, and for the king’s house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day. (1Kings 10:12 KJV)

You are appointed as a Musician to play your Violin Joyfully
Heavenly Father good morning. Thank you for providing us with such interesting weather. Calm and humid and then suddenly extremely windy and cool. Raining hard and then all of a sudden sunny and nice. And all this in just one day. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy. (1 Chronicles 15:16)
Lord, I’m here again. I came to sit with you. I am ready to pray for Lindsey now. Lindsey, I pray today that you would be able to use the many musical talents, skills and gifts with joy. I pray that your concerts would be joyful times for you. I pray that the thousands who come to hear you will hear more than just you. I pray that the love and grace of God will shine through each of your performances. Perhaps God has set you in this place just like how 1 Chronicles refers to musicians being appointed to sing and to play their instruments. I pray that the joy of the Lord would be with you during each day of your tour. And we can give the glory to God. All the glory goes to God. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Psalms – to be accompanied by stringed instruments
From the Old Testament Student Manual:
(14) Neginoth [Psalm 4; 61]. … This name, from the Hebrew word meaning to strike a chord, … clearly denotes that the Psalm was to be sung to the accompaniment of stringed instruments.
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for fresh air, without it life would cease. Thank you for chords played upon stringed instruments and for ears to hear them. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter, Lindsey:
To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm of David.
Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. (Psalm 4:1)
Lord, I’m here again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey who is taking time to read your word today and each day this year. I ask that you bring more and more understanding of the words that she reads in your Word. I ask that you let her understand how some of the psalms of David were written to be accompanied by stringed instruments playing chords. And I ask that you give her many opportunities to use her talent and skills to accompany scriptures with her violin. And all the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Use your violin to accompany songs from scripture
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for your Word filled with the truths we need in this life. Thank you for sending your Son to redeem and save us. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments. (Habakkuk 3:17-19)
Lord, here I am. I’m here as usual to pray for your daughter you love. And the scripture for today includes something I had not noticed before, even after reading Habakkuk many times over the years … it ends by specifying it was for the chief singer, the song leader or choir director and is to be accompanied by stringed instruments! And so today I pray this over you Lindsey. I pray that the stringed instrument you play can accompany scriptures… can accompany songs from scripture. I pray that God will reveal more of this to you today and that he will give you many opportunities to use your violin like this. And the glory is to God. He gets all the glory. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Enter the city with the sound of stringed instruments then proceed to the house of the Lord
Good Morning Heavenly Father! Thank you for the small, the little, the tiny. The small drops of rain that combine into a puddle or even fill the streets. The little seed that ends up a huge bush or tree. The tiny organisms seen only under a microscope. Thank you Lord. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the Lord had made them to rejoice over their enemies. And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the Lord. (2 Chronicles 20:27-28)
Lord, I’m here again. It’s me! I am here as usual to begin another prayer for your daughter you love. Today I pray that Lindsey may be in the forefront with the leaders singing and playing and rejoicing. Let them parade into the city and then enter your temple with songs of praise. And all the glory is yours Lord. The glory is all yours. Glory. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Play and Dance with Joyful Music for the King with other women!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for touch. Thank you for how I can feel the keys as I type to know how much to press on a key and when to stop pressing it:) Thank you for letting my feet feel the ground as I walk so that my steps are sure. And thank you for the pain that I feel at times which instantly alerts me to danger situations such as burning or cutting myself accidentally. And thank you for the scripture about the women singing, playing and dancing with joy:
And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick. And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. (1 Samuel 18:6-7)
Lord, I am here. I am here to lift up your daughter Lindsey and pray for her again as I do each day. And today I ask that you put celebration in her mind and joy in her heart. Show her a way that she can play and dance for you today. Let her feel your joy as she celebrates over you her King! And all the glory we give to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Play before God with All Your Might!
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the many colors seen in your creation around me. Thank you for the greens in the grass and the trees. Thank you for the blues in the sky. Thank you for the pinks in the sunset. And thank you for the browns in the dirt and the sand. Thank you for the seemingly unlimited colors in nature! And thank you for the scripture to use in today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the Lord, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it. And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart. And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. (1 Chronicles 13:6-8)
Lord, here I am. I am here again on behalf of your daughter you love. Today I ask that you give her the same passion for you that King David and all Israel had as related in 1 Chronicles 13. They played and sang and danced before you with all their might. I ask that you give Lindsey the opportunity this week do the same … to play and dance before you God. To play and dance before you with all her might! And we will give the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
Women joined in playing music to the Lord
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for movement. Thank you for legs that move me around on cushioned steps. Thank you for my feet that keep me balanced. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels. (Psalm 68:25)
Lord, I’m here again, as usual. I am ready to begin another daily prayer for your daughter Lindsey. I ask that you let her be like the young women who played on instruments as part of a procession that honored you God. Let the music glorify you Lord. I ask that you provide Lindsey with many opportunities to glorify you in her music and dance. And we will give the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. Glory. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
All types of instruments can be used to praise the Lord
Good morning Heavenly Father. What a good and great morning it is. Thank you for the dawn where light shines forth from the prior darkness. Thank you for the light so that our eyes may see. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey.
And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals. (2 Samuel 6:5)
But also keep in mind what immediately follows (pointing out how they were incorrectly transporting the ark of God):
And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God. (2 Samuel 6:6-7)
Lord, I’m here again. I’m ready to lift up your daughter. Let her play before you Lord. Let her play on an instrument made of wood. Let her music be joyful and acknowledging you Lord. Let her dance and play joyful melodies and harmonies. Let her fly through the air with joyful dancing. But I also ask that you protect her Lord. I ask that you keep her rejoicing on track and on the path you would have her go. I ask that anytime her rejoicing is for the wrong reasons, that you open her eyes and her heart. Let her not be deceived nor misled. Let her not forget that you have set down guidelines for her to follow, just as you set guidelines for the Israelites to follow when transporting the ark of God. And we will give the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Skilled, Trained Accomplished Musicians
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for bees. Yes, they can sting, but they are necessary for other parts of your creation. Thank you for allowing us to see how the many parts of your creation can be interdependent on each other. And thank you for the scripture that speaks about accomplished musicians who were skilled and trained, just as your daughter Lindsey is!
All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman. So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the Lord, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight. (1 Chronicles 25:6-7)
Lord, I’m here again. I am here to begin today’s prayer for your daughter. You have gifted her with amazing musical talent and skill, just as those that 1 Chronicles speaks about. I ask that you open doors for her to use her skill and talent in ways that bring praise to your name Lord. She is an accomplished musician, just like Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman. Reveal to her ways that she may bring praise to you through her music throughout the world. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
