Stay true and don’t let your love grow cold
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for another new day… a day anew with you. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) (Matthew 24:11-15)
Yes, Daniel did say this:
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. (Daniel 12:10-11)
Lord, here I am. I’m here to begin a new prayer for your daughter. Lindsey, today I pray this for us both. It is something I pray for myself often. I pray that God would keep our minds clear so that we can see through any deception. I pray that we not be deceived because by definition when deceived we don’t realize it! That is a scary place and I pray for God to guide us away from it. But today’s scripture also warns us to love much, because as the iniquity and lawlessness increases around us, the love in us can so easily be quenched or snuffed out. So, I pray that God would guard our hearts with his love. I pray that he would fill us with his love and enable us to show this love to those around us regardless of the circumstances. And we in turn will glorify God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Remember the humble beginning of Jesus, our Saviour, Lord and King
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for speaking to me during my bus rides downtown. The bus windows were completely fogged/misted over from the inside of the bus being air conditioned and outside warm and humid. It is interesting how water can just appear on windows illustrating how water is indeed part of the air we breathe. Thank you for the many ways water appears before us, as liquid, gas or solid, rain, snow, sleet, hail, steam, mist and dew. And thank you for the scripture for this morning’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judæa: for thus it is written by the prophet,
6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. (Matthew 2:1-6)
Micah was that prophet:
2 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. (Micah 5:2)
Lord, it’s me again. I am here. I was anxious to be here this morning as I look forward to sitting with you. Now I would like to speak on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Just as with the wise men, she has seen the announcement of Jesus’s coming and looks forward to worshiping him, as do I. Today’s scripture also reminds us how his coming was not with a royal celebration in the capital city, but rather in a tiny town that scriptures refer to as “least”. Such humble beginning for the Savior, the Lord, the King. Lord, I ask that you help us both to remember this and to strive to remain humble in all circumstances, giving all the glory to you. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
God’s Kingdom is in our midst within us now, though not with something observable
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for giving us your Word. Thank you for all the people who preserved it and those that diligently translated it into our language so that we could read it ourselves. Thank you for bringing us understanding as we read it so that it is not just a lot of words. And thank you for the scripture to use for the prayer today where Jesus tells us about the kingdom of God:
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:20-21)
Lord, it’s me again. I am here to pray for your daughter Lindsey. And today I pray that your kingdom would be right there within her in such a way that she can feel it. Let her know that God’s kingdom is right there within her. Lindsey, I pray that you will not need to ask for a sign because the kingdom has come in a way that is not observable, yet it is real. Lord, make your kingdom real for Lindsey today. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness
Mammon: An Aramaic word meaning “riches,” personified in Matt. 6:24; Luke 16:9, 11, 13. [from Bible Dictionary]
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for thunder and lightning (and how they both are actually the same thing) for it allows us just a glimpse of how power can be unleashed in the world. Thank you for the display of lightning that goes across the sky in an instant and a blink of an eye later is completely gone. Thank you for the LOUD crack of thunder to remind us of the power that was behind that very brief display in the sky. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
[Jesus said:] No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6:24-34)
Lord, I’m here again to pray for your daughter. I enjoy my time here and the chance to lift her up to you. Lindsey, today is a day to remember that all you need to do is to seek FIRST the kingdom of God. If you do that God has said not to worry, that he would take care of you. Not only just take care of you, but that he would ADD all the things you need to the result of seeking first his kingdom. He also reminds you that tomorrow will have its own problems and troubles … all you need to do is focus on today’s :) Lord, I ask that as Lindsey does seek first your kingdom, that you would show up in her life each day to relieve some of the problems of each day. Let her feel your presence as you take care of her wherever she may be. And all the glory is yours. The glory all goes to you. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Blessing: The Kingdom of Heaven is Yours when you are persecuted for being righteous
This is the eighth blessing from the Sermon on the Mount. Lindsey, I pray that you continue to be righteous each day, no matter what the cost, for then the kingdom of heaven is yours!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the miracle of life. Today I am noticing my teeth. Thank you for creating teeth that can bite and chew for a hundred years and they still are capable of biting off a good piece of a barbecued rib! Thank you for the many other miracles we often overlook. And thank you for giving us your word and for the many people who painstakingly copied it and preserved it. And thank you for those who translated it into a language that I can understand, including the scripture where Jesus said:
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:10)
Lord, I am here again. I am here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. I am here to bless her today. Yes, Lindsey, today I bless you in the name of Christ Jesus and pray that you continue to be righteous no matter what the cost. There are many watching you and imitating your righteousness. Yet there are many others who won’t hesitate to speak out against you and your beliefs. Don’t be discouraged Lindsey for yours is the kingdom of heaven. And we will give the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Perhaps you are here for such a time as this!
Good Morning Heavenly Father! Thank you for my breath and my life. Thank you for continuing to be my provider and protector, my instructor and my guide. Thank you for the scripture that is for your daughter Lindsey. I pray this scripture over her this day:
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer, Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. (Esther 4:14-16)
Lord, yesterdays tears are gone, and now I come before you to ask that you would speak to Lindsey if you have helped her achieve her international status and position for such a time as this. Who knows, perhaps she has come to your kingdom for such a time as this! I ask that you be her guide, that you carefully and clearly show her the way she should go … and give her the courage to go that way. Remind her that you are at her side each and every step of the way. Let her see the path as you see it Lord. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
