You are appointed as a Musician to play your Violin Joyfully
Heavenly Father good morning. Thank you for providing us with such interesting weather. Calm and humid and then suddenly extremely windy and cool. Raining hard and then all of a sudden sunny and nice. And all this in just one day. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy. (1 Chronicles 15:16)
Lord, I’m here again. I came to sit with you. I am ready to pray for Lindsey now. Lindsey, I pray today that you would be able to use the many musical talents, skills and gifts with joy. I pray that your concerts would be joyful times for you. I pray that the thousands who come to hear you will hear more than just you. I pray that the love and grace of God will shine through each of your performances. Perhaps God has set you in this place just like how 1 Chronicles refers to musicians being appointed to sing and to play their instruments. I pray that the joy of the Lord would be with you during each day of your tour. And we can give the glory to God. All the glory goes to God. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Welcome God to come – sing and play your instruments (and maintain a childlike enthusiasm!)
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the waves upon the beach. Thank you for the joy they bring to the children. Thank you for the excitement in their voices, in their eyes, in their jumping around. Thank you for reminding us that we are to be like little children if we are to enter the kingdom of heaven*. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey, who is very much like those energetic, enthusiastic children:
Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God. (2 Chronicles 5:12-14)
Lord, here I am again. I am here on behalf of Lindsey again today as usual. I ask that whenever she plays her violin and praises you Lord, that you would fill that place even if it is a concert hall or outdoor music festival! And all the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
*And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3)
Skilled, Trained Accomplished Musicians
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for bees. Yes, they can sting, but they are necessary for other parts of your creation. Thank you for allowing us to see how the many parts of your creation can be interdependent on each other. And thank you for the scripture that speaks about accomplished musicians who were skilled and trained, just as your daughter Lindsey is!
All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman. So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the Lord, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight. (1 Chronicles 25:6-7)
Lord, I’m here again. I am here to begin today’s prayer for your daughter. You have gifted her with amazing musical talent and skill, just as those that 1 Chronicles speaks about. I ask that you open doors for her to use her skill and talent in ways that bring praise to your name Lord. She is an accomplished musician, just like Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman. Reveal to her ways that she may bring praise to you through her music throughout the world. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Play Praises to God as He Made You Glad
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the food we eat. Thank you for the house giving us shelter and a home. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. (Psalm 92:1-4)
Lord, I’m here again. I’m here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. I ask that you continue to make her glad through your work. I ask that you allow her to triumph in your works! Give her many opportunities to play her violin in praise and thanksgiving to you today and this coming week… for your lovingkindness in the morning and for your faithfulness in the evening. And all the glory goes to you. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Let your violin sing praises to God while you talk of his righteousness
Good Morning Heavenly Father. I welcome another new day with you. Thank you for your promise that I may start each day anew, anew with you. And thank you for the scripture about praising you with stringed instrument:
I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt. (Psalm 71:22-24)
Lord, I’m here again. I’m here to sit with you and to pray for your daughter you love. I pray for Lindsey this day. I ask that you hear her as she praises you on her violin. I ask that you reveal more of your faithfulness to her this day. Provide her with many opportunities to talk of your righteousness throughout the day today. Let her sing and shout for joy over you so others ask her what is the reason for her joy! And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Play pleasant music, play the melodious lyre, sing for joy!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for music. Thank you for the joy that music can bring. Thank you for giving us ears that can hear pleasant melodies. And thank you for the scripture that tells about this:
Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. (Psalm 81:1-2)
Lord, I’m here again to sit with you and to pray for your daughter Lindsey. You have gifted her with a wonderful talent for playing pleasant music on the violin. Lindsey, today I pray that you would continue to use this gift. That you would sing and play with joy praising our God. Let those around you hear this joy in your music. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
