Fret at night? Fuss about too early in the morning? NOT!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the wind. Gusts of wind. Cold blasts of wind. Fierce WIND! And then calm (for just 7 seconds, then more wind!) Thank you for letting it be a reminder that what we cannot see can be more real than what we see. Thank you for allowing me to know that you are right here with me even though I cannot see you with my eyes, for my heart can see you! And thank you for the scripture for your daughter Lindsey:

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. (Psalm 127:2)

Lord, I am here again. I’m here as usual to begin a new prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, God loves you so much that he will give you peaceful sleep. He loves you so much that he calls you “beloved”. He loves you so much that he goes “out of his way” (so to speak) to remind you of things that are important. And today, he reminds you to not worry. Don’t get anxious about the next day, waking up too early to fuss about trying to get everything “just right”. He points out that perhaps staying up late moaning about what happened that day may not be a good idea. And so I ask God to watch over you while you sleep. I ask that he give you pleasant dreams and a peaceful moment when you awake. I ask that he be with you late at night reminding you that everything is OK because he is in charge, he has control, and you can just go to sleep! I pray for you Lindsey … that you would be content each day regardless of the circumstances. I pray sweet contentedness over you. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

God rested. So should we!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for vision. Thank you for both eyes that see and for all of creation you created to be seen. And thank you for giving us your Word, including the story of creation and how you rested on the 7th day. Yes, thank you for the New Testament scripture that directly refers to the Genesis creation account:

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. (Hebrews 4:4)

That certain place where he spoke was in Genesis:

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. (Genesis 2:2-3)

Lord, I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter. Today, I ask that you grant her rest. I ask that you grant her rest in you. Give her rest today, and each day as she follows the path you place before her. We know that rest is important, for you say so yourself in your Word! As Lindsey uses the many skills and talents that you have gifted her with, I ask that you also provide her with much needed rest. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Jesus offers you rest!

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for soap. Thank you for the means to clean ourselves and our clothes. Thank you for the example of how we can feel more refreshed after we are washed. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

Lord, I’m here again. I came to sit with you. I came to rest. I need your rest. It is one thing that I ask for quite often. And I now am asking for your rest for Lindsey. She seems to be in the spotlight one way or another constantly. She has so much to plan, so much to remember, so much to actually DO! I ask that you continue to surround her with people who can help her stay refreshed… refreshed in you. I ask that you nudge her to pause now and then to just sit with you. And then I ask that you let her feel your rest come upon her. And we will give you the glory. The glory is yours. I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

May the Lord give you rest and go with you on all your journeys

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for thunder and lightning. Thank you for the awesome display in the sky. Thank you for the beauty in the flash of light across the sky. Thank you for the power in the clap of thunder. And thank you for the scripture to use as the basis for my prayer for your daughter you love:

And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me,carry us not up hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. (Exodus 33:12-17)

Lord, it’s me again. I enjoy being with you. And now I’d like to pray for your daughter Lindsey. I pray that you would show her your ways. I pray that you would teach her your ways so that she can continue to find favor in your sight. I pray that you would speak to her today and tell her that you know her by name and that she has found favor in your sight. I pray that she would feel your presence  with her where ever she goes. And I pray that you would give her rest. Lindsey, rest in the Lord today. And we will give all the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Rest in Hope and Rejoice that God is always with you!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for being here with me always. Thank you for letting me feel your presence all around me. Yes, my heart is glad in this and I rejoice! Thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. (Psalm 16:7-9)

Lord, often I come to you for rest and this scripture speaks to that need … that I can come to you and I can just rest.  And today in my prayer for Lindsey I ask that she may find this rest in you. Let her heart be glad allowing her this rest Lord. And I ask that you be her counsel, that you be her guide today. Be always with her and let her be aware of your presence. Give her confidence knowing that if you are there with her she will not be shaken, she will not be moved! And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

(Y) Jesus’s Yoke is Easy and his Burden is Light

Heavenly Father, I welcome the new day with you. Thank you for the majestic sunrise. Thank you for showing how you value uniqueness in that each sunrise can be different, some pink, some orange, some with wisps of clouds, others with a mist or a fog. Different from an island or from the bottom of a mountain. Different from within a dense forest or on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Different in summer and in winter.  Even near nonexistent near the north or south pole! Thank you Lord. And thank you for the scripture for today that reminds us that Jesus promised that his yoke was easy:

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30)

Lord, what an exciting time. Tomorrow I finish my first 40 days of prayers for your daughter Lindsey with a prayer based on the letter Z. Today I am happy to pray for Lindsey, that you would remind her that your yoke is easy. It is not something to be avoided at all costs. Remind her that your burden is light – it is not a heavy burden.  Let her see this with her own eyes and her own heart today. I ask that today she would find your yoke extremely easy and your burden very light. And we will give you the glory Lord. All the glory is yours. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
