Don’t look at what you are lacking. Look at your abundance while guarding your heart.
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for taste. Thank you for letting us taste the things we eat and drink. Thank you for your creation filled with such a wide variety of tastes. Thank you for things that taste sweet as well as bitter or sour. Thank you for both hot and cold tastes that can differ. Thank you for all these things that we tend to take for granted every day. And thank you for the scriptures to use in today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
11 Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
15 As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack. (2 Corinthians 8:11-15)
Yes, it is written in Exodus:
17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.
18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. (Exodus 16:17-18)
Lord, as usual, here I am. I come to sit with you every day… many times during the day. But right now I wish to begin a new prayer for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, these short scriptures say much, and I will pray them over you now. First I pray that you will not worry about what you don’t have. Scriptures clearly say that God is looking at what you do with what you DO have. I pray that you will be able to cease worrying about what you are lacking so that you can focus on what you have in abundance! Finally, I pray that God would guide you in your abundance. When you have an abundance of something I pray that God would show you ways to help others with it. I pray that you will always find ways to share your talents and skills with others, but also I pray a bigger prayer. I pray that greed would not tempt you. I pray that you would always see ways to share your abundance with others and that the Lord would reward you with joy in your heart. I pray that you would never lack joy in your heart. I believe I also can share something God told me seven years ago. Yes, this was a word for ME, and not for anyone else. But it did come to mind as I was writing this prayer for you today. “There is no need to fear what we are lacking. Rather fear the hardening of our hearts.” I pray that you would watch over your heart Lindsey. Watch for signs that it is hardening and then take action to keep a soft heart. I pray that God would be your guide in this each day of your journey. And we will give the glory to him. All the glory goes to him. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. (V) Virgins of Honor (keep extra oil to shine brightly)
Lindsey, I pray that like the 5 wise virgins, you will always be watching and alert and that you will always be ready!
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the rain as it is needed for the trees and plants. Thank you for the sunshine that also is needed by those trees and plants. Thank you for showing us growth within your creation! And thank you for the scripture to use for the letter V for the virgins of honor, the wise virgins:
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. (Matthew 25:1-4)
And what happened when the bridegroom arrived in the middle of the night?
Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. (Matthew 25:7-9)
Lord, I am here again to pray for Lindsey, as usual! Today I pray for wisdom for you Lindsey. I pray that the virgins of honor, the wise virgins would be an example to you. I pray that you would also remember to carry extra oil with you wherever you go. Every single day! I pray that you never would end up like the five foolish virgins who had to scurry around at the last minute and find out it was then TOO LATE! I also pray that God would grant you discernment to know when the oil you have is meant just for you, when it is not for others who have left theirs behind. And finally, I pray that you would be able to constantly be alert, ever watchful and always ready. And the glory we will give to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Watch and Wait – God Will Hear You
It’s a wonderful new day Lord. Thank you for waking me up this morning to see what you have for me today. Thank you for always protecting and providing for me; thank you for being my guide today as you always are. Show me the way you would have me go, let me see it clearly, and then give me the courage to actually walk it! And I will walk it, with this printed prayer in my pocket :) Yes, this is my prayer for today for your attentive daughter:
Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. (Micah 7:7)
Here I am Lord … standing before you on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter! It is with great joy that I draw your attention to her. She patiently watches for you Lord. She confidently waits for you. And she knows in her head and in her heart that you will indeed hear her. Listen to her prayers this day Lord. As she looks to you, let her see your answer. As she waits, let her hear your reply. I ask that today be a special day where you make it very clear to her that you have heard her prayers. And we both will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. All the glory is to you. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen.
