Be zealous … be zealous for God!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for my breath. Thank you for my life. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. (John 2:14-17)
Yes, this was written in the Psalms:
9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. (Psalm 69:9)
Lord, it’s me. I am here as usual on behalf of your daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today I pray for you to be zealous. I have watched how you are totally zealous for your violin and your music. Zealousness is one of your gifts! And today I pray that this zealousness would extend to your relationship with God. Lord, I ask that you open up opportunities for Lindsey to be zealous for you! And we will give you all the glory. The glory is all yours. I ask all this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Continue to be Zealous for God and ignore any resulting insults
Heavenly Father, good morning. Wow, quite a thunderstorm this morning. More of your awesome thunder and lightning, but especially the downpour of rain. I am amazed at how you have arranged to store up tons of water up in the clouds and then release it as rain at the right times. Your are an amazing God and worthy of our praise! Thank you Lord. And thank you for the scripture that I should use for today’s prayer for your daughter who loves you:
For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. (Psalm 69:9)
Lord, I’m here. I am ready to pray for Lindsey again, and today’s scripture is a very good one for her this day! Lindsey, I pray that you continue to be zealous for God, for his name and for his house. I ask God to protect you from the insults and reproach that result from your public acknowledgement of your God. I pray that you remain zealous regardless of the insults that you know will come at you. I pray that the joy of the Lord would be your strength at those times. Remain joyful Lindsey. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(Z) Be Zealous for Good Works
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us light in the darkness. Thank you for being a God of order and not of chaos or confusion. Thank you for your compassion and care. And thank you for the scripture for the prayer for the letter Z:
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Titus 2:14)
Lord, what a wonderful way to end another set of 40 days of prayers for your daughter Lindsey… with a prayer about being zealous for good works! Lord, this is a big prayer … I see so much energy and good just bubbling over in your daughter. I pray that you would use this energy to be zealous for good works. Open many doors for her joyful zeal to do good. Open her eyes and her heart to good works that you set before her. Give her the courage to go through those doors and give her the words when she needs them. And we will give all the glory to you. The glory is all yours Lord. (X) EXcel in Edifying and Building Up the Church
Heavenly Father, thank you for indoor plants that keep our air fresh and oxygenated. Thank you for the beauty of indoor plants and flowers. Thank you for the many different colors of flower. Thank you for valuing variety! And thank you for the scripture that I can use for the letter X based on the syllable pronounced like “x”:
Even so ye, for as much as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. (1 Corinthians 14:12)
Lord, I need to sit with you today. I need your help myself and ask that you clarify things around me. I ask for more understanding and wisdom Lord. And of course I also am here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. She is zealous Lord. She is extremely zealous and so I ask that you find ways that she may excel in edifying and building up your church. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours. (Z) God is Zealous
Good Morning Heavenly Father! What a wonderful day, for today I use the letter Z for my daily prayer for your daughter Lindsey … and it is the end of the first 40 days of prayers for her! Thank you for providing a scripture for me to use each of those 40 days. Thank you for giving me words for the prayers. Thank you for helping me each day as I come before you to lift up your daughter you love so much. And thank you for the scripture for day number 40:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)
Lord, it is me again … and if you are asking who will go and pray for your daughter Lindsey, I say “I will”. And when you ask where are you, I say “Here I am!” And for this day, I enjoy praying about your zeal, for Lindsey also is zealous for the good! She takes up each project that you set before her, and WITH YOU she knows she can do it, so she puts her whole heart into it. She is zealous to perform the projects you set before her. And so I ask today that you would help her to keep her zeal aimed only for the good. Peter wrote about this:
Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? (1 Peter 3:13 ESV)
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be zealous of that which is good? (1 Peter 3:13 ASV)
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? (1 Peter 3:13 KJV) (interlinear of Hebrew/English)
So, Lord, I ask that you help Lindsey stay zealous. Yes, help her to stay zealous for what is good! And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
