Blessing – Prosper and Success wherever you go
Lindsey, I bless you this day. May you carefully keep the charge of the Lord and walk in his ways so that you may prosper in everything you do and wherever you go.
Heavenly Father, hello! Thank you for the sky… complete with clouds – and not just one kind of clouds but several kinds of clouds. Today the clouds are wispy and are quite beautiful. And thank you for letting me have an extra blessing for your daughter today … a bonus blessing for this February which is only 28 days this year – next year it will be 29 days!
And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself (1 Kings 2:3)
Lord, here I am … needing some rest, some rest with you! I ask that you grant me rest and help me to be refreshed while I set up the bonus blessing for the daughter you love! Lindsey, today I remind you to continue to observe what the Lord is asking of you and to continue to walk in his ways. Then I pray that you will prosper and have success in all that you do and wherever you may go. And we both will glorify the Lord. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Blessing – Comfort, Strength and Encouragement
Lindsey, I bless you this day. May the Lord comfort your heart, encourage you and strengthen you to do and say what is good.
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the snow which is beautiful even though it is a bit cold. Thank you for the snowflakes which each are different and unique and yet are symmetrical and typically six sided as seen by the photos of snowflakes taken by W. A. Bentley aka Snowflake Bentley. Thank you for the bright sunlight glittering on the snow. And thank you for the blessing for your daughter for this day:
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
Lord, I am here to sit with you for a bit. Sitting with you is important regardless of what else is going on around me. And now I would like to bless your daughter with the blessing that Paul gave to the Thessalonians. Lindsey, this blessing reminds you that God the Father and Jesus Christ love you. And because they love you they have given you everlasting consolation, unfailing courage and a firm hope. They are always there to comfort your heart and strengthen you so that you can always do and say what is good. And today I pray all these blessings over you as we give glory to the Lord. All the glory is his. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Blessing – May you Prosper and be in Good Health!
Lindsey, I bless you this day. May you prosper and have good health. (and prosper means WAY more than money and stuff)
Heavenly Father, thank you for another day with you. Thank you for another day anew with you. Thank you for promising that each day I can start anew. I don’t have to start where my day ended. I can start the day fresh with you. And thank you for the next blessing direct from your word to pray over your daughter Lindsey:
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2)
Lord, how nice to come to sit with you again on behalf of your daughter who loves you so much. Today I ask you to bless her that she may prosper and remain in good health. Yes, I ask that you help her to stay healthy in the midst of her worldwide travels. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Blessing – Grace and Peace be unto you!
Lindsey, I bless you this day. I pray that God’s grace and peace will be with you.
Heavenly Father, what a wonderful day to start blessing your daughter Lindsey. Thank you for the bright sunshine. Thank you for the fresh air. Thank you for all those I meet today, all created in your image. And thank you for the first blessing taken directly from your scriptures:
Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 1:1)
Lord, what a joy to be sitting with you today. It is especially joyful since this day marks the start of praying blessings over the daughter you love. Lindsey, today I pray that grace and peace be yours. I pray that his peace would be granted you from God your father and Jesus Christ. And together we can give the glory to the Lord. All the glory is his. I bless you in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
You are a Child of God without blemish! Blameless and pure!
Heavenly Father, good morning! At night the sky was crystal clear and the stars were bright and twinkling. Thank you for setting the stars in the heavens for us to see. It is breath-taking! Hundreds that I can see… thousands with a little help … millions with a good telescope, but there are even way more than that. The immenseness of this paints a splendid picture of the God we praise today! Thank you Lord. And thank you for the scripture to use as the basis for my prayer to kick off the next 40 days of prayers for the daughter you love!
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; (Philippians 2:14-15)
Lord, what a privilege to be able to sit with you. What an honor. But here I am … sitting with you. You restored my breath. You cleared my mind. I am here on Lindsey’s behalf again Lord. Today I pray a prayer confirming that she is a child of God, that she is a daughter of God shining as a light in the world in the midst of the darkness which you refer to as crooked, perverse and twisted. Lord, I ask that you fill your daughter with your love and your light. Let her shine brightly before all she meets and let her do all things without grumbling, disputing, arguing or murmuring! Let only goodness spill out from her where ever she goes. And we will give you the glory. Yes, all the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen (more…)
40 Words from 40 Prayers over 40 Days 2
Hello Lindsey – my second set of 40 days of prayers is completed and to celebrate, I created another one page Word Picture summary of short phrases from each of those 40 prayers. The 40 prayers ended with prayers based on scriptures about who God says you are from A to Z.
This Word Picture is designed for you to stand back and squint when looking at it. You are very creative, so perhaps you already are used to squinting to see what is really there :)
I had a local shop here put this Word Picture on thick foam board and I will be mailing it to you tomorrow. But if you ever need to see it again from anywhere around the world, here it is in PDF format:
(Z) Be Zealous for Good Works
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us light in the darkness. Thank you for being a God of order and not of chaos or confusion. Thank you for your compassion and care. And thank you for the scripture for the prayer for the letter Z:
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Titus 2:14)
Lord, what a wonderful way to end another set of 40 days of prayers for your daughter Lindsey… with a prayer about being zealous for good works! Lord, this is a big prayer … I see so much energy and good just bubbling over in your daughter. I pray that you would use this energy to be zealous for good works. Open many doors for her joyful zeal to do good. Open her eyes and her heart to good works that you set before her. Give her the courage to go through those doors and give her the words when she needs them. And we will give all the glory to you. The glory is all yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen (more…)
(Y) Yield Yourself Unto God
Heavenly Father, thank you for prayers – prayers meaning the people who are praying, the pray-ers. Thank you for hearing their prayers… and mine. Thank you for this wonderful miracle of prayer. And thank you for the scripture to use in my prayer for your daughter this day referencing the letter Y:
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. (Romans 6:13)
Lord, I’m here. I’m here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. May I pray for her and rest at the same time please? Help me with the prayer this day Lord. It appears that she has publicly yielded herself unto you God, so I ask that you provide her ways to be an instrument of righteousness. Open the doors for this for her Lord. Let all those who see her notice that she is an instrument of righteousness. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen (more…)
(X) EXcel in Edifying and Building Up the Church
Heavenly Father, thank you for indoor plants that keep our air fresh and oxygenated. Thank you for the beauty of indoor plants and flowers. Thank you for the many different colors of flower. Thank you for valuing variety! And thank you for the scripture that I can use for the letter X based on the syllable pronounced like “x”:
Even so ye, for as much as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. (1 Corinthians 14:12)
Lord, I need to sit with you today. I need your help myself and ask that you clarify things around me. I ask for more understanding and wisdom Lord. And of course I also am here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. She is zealous Lord. She is extremely zealous and so I ask that you find ways that she may excel in edifying and building up your church. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(W) Walk (and Dance) in the Light
Today’s prayer seems to be an extra special one … a tiny group of us meets every weekday at a coffeeshop or at Wendy’s from 7-8am to read scriptures aloud around our table … and now and then we pause to share thoughts that we have regarding the scriptures. And today one of the people mentioned dancing to the Lord or dancing for the Lord … and I had to say … wow, that is part of my prayer I was just typing before we started our reading! And so I need to expand this prayer a bit and add a second scripture to it referencing how king David danced before the Lord!
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for a wonderful morning feeling fully refreshed. Thank you for the many things that I can eat and drink, the vast amount, all different. Thank you for showing us that unique can be good! Thank you for being my guide and lighting the path for me to walk… and for the scripture for the letter W for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)
Lord, today it is even more a joy to be here with you than usual. The scripture for today’s prayer is so very applicable to your daughter you love … for she strives to walk in the light not only in her private life but also in public. But today I pray that you would show her how she also can dance in the light. Lord, I ask you to find ways for her to make dancing in the light part of her. Show her the way to do this Lord. Perhaps King David can be an example for her (see the ESV translation to help understand the Old English):
And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness. And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart. And they brought in the ark of the Lord, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord. And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts. And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house. Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord. And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour. Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death. (2 Samuel 6:12-22)
So let there be a celebration, let there be a party, let there be a dancing party. Lord, I ask that you sit with your daughter, that you walk with your daughter, that you DANCE and PLAY with your daughter in front of many crowds of people. Let the dance and the music be to you Lord. Let others know that we can celebrate with all our might before the Lord. Some of those around your daughter may not approve of this, however, but we know that you, Lord, DO approve, and so I pray that you will give your daughter the courage and strength to dance and play before you regardless of what others might say. And we will give all the glory to you. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
