Lindsey, today’s scripture regarding Gomer is a hard one for me. But it seems that perhaps it is pointing out to us how God has purchased us out of slavery with the blood of his only Son Jesus. Gomer was an example of a woman who was loved even when she did not deserve to be loved, and she was purchased back. Likewise there were name changes that refer back to her two children – “not loved” was shown love and “not my people” became God’s people. I pray that you will find ways to remind people that God loves them.
Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for all the many “God co-incidences” that you have let me be part of! And thank you for the scripture around Gomer, the woman for the letter G:
Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine. Lord, I’m here again. The scripture is intriguing so I ask your help in this prayer. I ask that you give me the words! Lindsey, today I am praying that you would watch for ways that you can show those around you how God loves them. I pray that they not only would see Jesus in you, but that they also would experience God’s love for them, regardless of how bad their past has been. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
