God rested. So should we!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for vision. Thank you for both eyes that see and for all of creation you created to be seen. And thank you for giving us your Word, including the story of creation and how you rested on the 7th day. Yes, thank you for the New Testament scripture that directly refers to the Genesis creation account:

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. (Hebrews 4:4)

That certain place where he spoke was in Genesis:

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. (Genesis 2:2-3)

Lord, I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter. Today, I ask that you grant her rest. I ask that you grant her rest in you. Give her rest today, and each day as she follows the path you place before her. We know that rest is important, for you say so yourself in your Word! As Lindsey uses the many skills and talents that you have gifted her with, I ask that you also provide her with much needed rest. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Jesus is the light within you. Let it shine brightly everywhere you go!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for good friends. Thank you for the friends who are there with us year after year. And thank you as well for friends who are with us for just a season. Thank you for reminding us that it is Christ that is the light in us, and when others see a light in us, we can tell them the source is Jesus!

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. (Ephesians 5:13-14)

Yes, this was said in Isaiah:

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. (Isaiah 60:1)

Lord, it’s me. Yep, I am here again as usual to lift Lindsey up to you. I am here on her behalf. Lord, I pray that you would be the light in Lindsey. Wake her up whenever busy-ness clouds her day. And then let your light shine through her Lord so that it is evident to those around her, let it be so evident that many ask her about it! Give her these opportunities to tell people that she is not the light, but that Jesus is the light within her. I ask that you give her the words then Lord. Show her the way and give her the strength and courage to walk it (with you right beside her the whole time!) And we will give the glory to you. The glory is yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Be one who admires! Be one who praises!

Despiser (despise) – Antonym: one who admires (admire) [dictionary]

Scoffer (scoff) – Antonym: one who praises (praise) [dictionary]

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for our minds. Thank you for minds that can see and wonder. Thank you for minds that can see letters and make out words; that can see words and make out sentences; that can see sentences and make out complete thoughts. Thank you for how our minds can understand what we see! And thank you for the scripture in the New Testament that refers back to several prophets of the Old Testament!

40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you. (Acts 13:40-41)

A prophet who spoke of this was Habakkuk:

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. (Habakkuk 1:5)

2 Kings refers to prophets also saying this:

10 And the Lord spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
11 Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
12 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold,am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle. (2 Kings 21:10-12)

Jeremiah also spoke of God doing something so unbelievable that it makes your ears tingle:

And say, Hear ye the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle. (Jeremiah 19:3)

And so did Samuel:

11 And the Lord said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. (1 Samuel 3:11)

Lord, it’s me again. I’m here to pray for Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today’s scriptures are quite interesting. On the one hand, the prophets of the old announced to the people that God was about to do something that would seem unbelievable to them, something that would make their ears tingle! The book of Acts tells about what Paul said in the Synagogue in Antioch, and how he used what the prophets of old had announced as a WARNING to those he was speaking to. Perhaps this can be a warning to us as well, Lindsey. Paul gave his warning to the “despisers” and the “scoffers”. He warned them and even said to take care that what the prophets spoke about does not happen to them! And who was the “them”?  The despisers and scoffers! So, today I pray for you Lindsey. I pray that you would not be a scoffer nor a despiser. I pray that you would not be one who despises nor one who scoffs. I pray that you strive to be the opposite of this. Yes! I pray that you would be one who admires; one who praises! Lord, I ask that you give Lindsey many opportunities to show how she is one who admires and praises. And we will give the glory to you Lord. All the glory is yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

God dwells in you, lives with you and walks with you every day

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Good Morning! Good Afternoon! Good Evening! Good Night! What word is common to all these things that many of us say each day? Good! And it is indeed a well placed word! The very first chapter of the first book of the Bible speaks of creation and over and over it mentions how it was GOOD… until the sixth day when God created man … after that day God thought it was VERY good! So, thank you Lord for creation and for reminding us that it indeed good. And thank you for the two scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (2 Corinthians 6:16)

God had indeed said it in Ezekiel:

27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (Ezekiel 37:27)

As well as in Leviticus:

12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. (Leviticus 26:12)

Lord, I’m here to pray for your daughter again as I do every day. Lindsey, today I join with you in acknowledging that we are God’s people, something Paul echoed from Ezekiel. But today I pray for you as being the temple of the living God. Yes, God dwells in you, lives with you and walks with you every day. I pray that knowing this would be so obvious to you that it becomes part of a normal day of life for you.  Whether you are home having fun with your family or on the other side of the globe inspiring thousands with your music, I pray that you always would sense God’s presence there with you. I pray that those around you would see this in you as well. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Don’t Panic! Just rely, trust and believe in Jesus!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Good morning and Happy Day! I welcome this new day, anew with you. I rejoice in this day praising you.  Yes, good morning, happy day and thank you for your precious Word which reminds us how we too are precious as we believe in Jesus who is the precious cornerstone of our life that Peter refers to, as Isaiah foretold about him:

To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (1 Peter 2:4-6)

Consider this scripture from Isaiah:

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (Isaiah 28:16)

Lord, it’s me! I’m here! I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, today I was happy to find out that the button that some people wear is Biblical. “Don’t Panic!” Yes, indeed, as you look around you Isaiah said it … don’t panic and rush around. Don’t panic and make haste! Keep Calm and Believe! Perhaps the button that people are wearing needs the word “Believe” added to it! Lindsey, you have already acknowledged Jesus publicly. I pray that you will cling to him today. I pray that you will believe in him, the precious cornerstone to your life. I pray that Jesus will always be precious to you. I pray that as you firmly believe in him, that he will give you confidence and not allow you to be put to shame. I pray that as you trust and rely on Jesus, that you would never feel the need to panic and would never be confounded! And we will give the glory to God. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings.  Amen (more…)

Receive the gift of grace. Take hold of it. Make it yours.

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for sunshine. Thank you for sunlight. Thank you for the warmth of the sun. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer and for calling to mind how it correlates to what your daughter Lindsey was just thinking about!  Because, while I was preparing this scripture for today’s prayer, I remembered that she had just posted something on facebook about God’s gift of grace! Yep, here: Lindsey’s Facebook Post

And here is the scripture about the gift of grace:

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Ephesians 4:4-8)

Yes, this was said in the Psalms:

18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them. (Psalm 68:18)

Lord, I am here! I’m here to begin today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey, the daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today I pray that God’s gift of grace be yours. May you take hold of it and make it yours. May you receive it with a loud Thank You God! And together we acknowledge all that this scripture says leading up to that grace. Within your calling there is one body and one Spirit. There is just one faith and one God who is in you. And thus we praise him now. We glorify him. We give all the glory to him. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

All the disciples scattered when Jesus was arrested… will you?

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for showing so clearly how Jesus himself confirmed that prior scriptures were not be replaced by him, but rather that he was encompassing them. The old and the new are interconnected. Today’s two scriptures show this quite well:

And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. (Mark 14:27)

Yes, it was written in Zechariah:

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. (Zechariah 13:7)

Lord, I’m here. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. I pray that you will make yourself known to her. Lindsey, today’s scripture refers to all the disciples scattering when Jesus was arrested. Even Peter, who was so very confident that he would stand by Jesus no matter what. If we wonder what we would have done, we have the advantage of knowing the end of the story. We know that Jesus rose from the dead victoriously, so we need not worry nor be afraid nor scatter. So, that is my prayer for you Lindsey. I pray that you would know Jesus so well, that even when things look bad, you will still cling to him… actually, especially when things look bad! I pray that the Lord would grant you the courage to stick with him wherever you go. And we will give the glory to him. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Never forget that you are a child of God!

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for loving me. Thank you for loving me as your son. Thank you for reminding me how you delight in me, even when I need some correction! And thank you for the scriptures to begin this next 40 days of prayers based on New Testament scriptures quoting from the Old Testament that reminds Lindsey that she indeed is a daughter of God:

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of himFor whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (Hebrews 12:5-6)

The “exhortation” appears to be from Deuteronomy and Proverbs:

Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. (Deuteronomy 8:5)

And:

My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. (Proverbs 3:11-12)

Lord, I’m here to pray for your daughter Lindsey this day. She has not forgotten that she is your daughter! I ask that you show her how much you delight in her. I ask that as you correct her in her ways, that you also remind her that such correction is to be expected if she is indeed your daughter. Remind her that if you didn’t correct her, you also then would not be treating her like your daughter, for you correct those you love just as a father corrects his children. We will rejoice that Lindsey is your daughter. And we will give the glory to you Lord. All the glory is yours. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

With God, all things are possible!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for another day with you. Thank you for my life and for my breath. Thank you for being near to me. And thank you for the scripture to use for the last day of prayers based on things Jesus said!

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. (Mark 10:27)

Yep… it is me again, Lord. I’m here as usual to sit with you and to lift up your daughter Lindsey to you. I ask that you be with her today. I ask that you remind her that all things are possible for you, so she need not worry. I ask that you let her know it is you reminding her of this truth. Even more … I ask that you do something for her this week that only you can do… I ask that you do something that Lindsey can see with her own eyes that she KNOWS could only have been done by her God! And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
