A daughter of God

Never forget that you are a child of God!

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for loving me. Thank you for loving me as your son. Thank you for reminding me how you delight in me, even when I need some correction! And thank you for the scriptures to begin this next 40 days of prayers based on New Testament scriptures quoting from the Old Testament that reminds Lindsey that she indeed is a daughter of God:

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of himFor whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (Hebrews 12:5-6)

The “exhortation” appears to be from Deuteronomy and Proverbs:

Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. (Deuteronomy 8:5)

And:

My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. (Proverbs 3:11-12)

Lord, I’m here to pray for your daughter Lindsey this day. She has not forgotten that she is your daughter! I ask that you show her how much you delight in her. I ask that as you correct her in her ways, that you also remind her that such correction is to be expected if she is indeed your daughter. Remind her that if you didn’t correct her, you also then would not be treating her like your daughter, for you correct those you love just as a father corrects his children. We will rejoice that Lindsey is your daughter. And we will give the glory to you Lord. All the glory is yours. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

New Testament (Hebrews 12:5-6 NASB):
and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,

My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
Nor faint when you are reproved by Him;
For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines,
And He scourges every son whom He receives.”

Old Testament (Deuteronomy 8:5 NASB)

Thus you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.

Old Testament (Proverbs 3:11-12 NASB)

11 My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord
Or loathe His reproof,
12 For whom the Lord loves He reproves,
Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights

KJV translation note

The King James Version is a beautiful translation of the original Hebrew and Greek, however I sometimes find Old English hard to understand fully. 1 or 2 other translations can help clarify what it is saying so I can understand it. More Info CLICK: References
