The Lord Is Your Guide. He Makes Your Way Straight.

Heavenly Father, I welcome a new day with you. I welcome a day where bits of your glory will be evident. I welcome the day and thank you for all the beauty in your creation. I also thank you for the scripture for my prayer today for your daughter Lindsey:

Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. (Psalm 5:8)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. I ask that you lead her in your righteousness. There are those who want her to stumble, so I pray that you would lead her past them. Make her way straight Lord. Remove obstacles that are in the way. Be her guide Lord. Light the path that you set before her and give her the courage to walk that path. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Discouraged? NOT! Praying? YES!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for my breath. Thank you for my life. Thank you for waking me this morning and being with me this day. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus speaking] And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; (Luke 18:1)

Lord, it’s me. It’s me again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. I pray that you fill her with your joy Lord. Let it be her strength so she need to be weary and feel faint. Lord let discouragement be far from her. Surround her with those who will encourage her and keep on on the path you set before her. And most importantly is prayer. Lindsey, remember to pray. Remember to pray often. Actually, Jesus asked you to be always praying! Let the people who are watching you day after day notice that not only are you smiling and joyful as well as talented, but that you also are prayerful. Let some of your prayers be while others are watching. I pray that you would be a good role model in prayer as well as in how to live. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. Glory. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Get Up and Pray!

Hello Heavenly Father. Thank you for keeping my teeth in good shape. Thank you for how teeth are so essential to eating, which in turn is essential for life. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus speaking] And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. (Luke 22:46)

Lord, I’m here again as usual. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today I pray that you will do all that you can to avoid falling into temptation. Jesus seems to be saying that at times it is good to wake up even while very sleepy.  He suggests waking up to pray! So praying is one way to avoid temptation. Thus I pray for you now Lindsey. I pray that you would not enter into temptation. Draw a line that you will not cross. Maintain your integrity. Many are watching! You are their role model even if you don’t know them. Continue to remind them that you read scriptures daily … that you pray every day. And together we will give the glory to God. The glory is all his. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Come to Jesus. He will not Reject You nor Cast You Out.

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for this new day. Thank you for promising that I can start this day new, anew with you. Thank you for watching over me while I slept. And thank you for your scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said] All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37)

Lord, I am here again. I am here as usual. I am here to begin another daily prayer for your daughter who loves you and comes to you. I am here on behalf of Lindsey. Today, I pray a promise over you Lindsey. Today I pray a promise that Jesus made. He sees you coming to him. He sees you acknowledging him before the multitudes. He sees you calling for him by name. And he will not cast you out. He will not turn you away. He will not reject you nor send you away. So you can feel secure. You need not worry nor be anxious. Just come to Jesus each day. And we will give the glory to him. The glory is all his. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Delight in God’s Way as He Upholds You with His Hand

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for my breath. Thank you for my life. Thank you for lungs that keep working even while I sleep. Thank you for a heart that keeps on beating day and night without fail. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. (Psalm 37:23-24)

Lord, I’m here to lift up Lindsey to you. She strives to read your Word each and every day. She loves you Lord. She trusts you and expects that you will establish her way and order her steps for she delights in your way. And so today I ask that you watch over your daughter. I ask that you arrange things for her to be just so! Just the way you would have her go. Light the way before her so that she can see it clearly. If she stumbles and begins to fall, catch her Lord. Hold her in your hand so that she not be cast down. Protect her so that she will not fall flat on her face. I ask that you place people in her path today who will encourage her. I ask that you fill her heart with your Joy today. And we will give the glory to you Lord. Glory! I ask this all in the name and with the authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Have an Understanding of the Times and Know What To Do

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for providing us with food. Not just my family, but our whole neighborhood. Not just our neighborhood, but all the neighborhoods in our city. And not just in our city but in our whole state. And not just in our state but food for our entire country. And not just our country but food for every country. You are an awesome God that can provide enough food for every country in the world today … and every day! Thank you! And thank you for the interesting scriptures to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord by Samuel. (1 Chronicles 11:3)

Then in the next chapter of 1 Chronicles we are told who came to David after he was crowned king! Here is how scriptures refers to each tribe (summary of 1 Chronicles 12:22-40):

  • Judah: men bearing shield and spear, ready and armed for war
  • Simeon: mighty men of valour for war
  • Levi: a young man mighty of valour and twenty two captains
  • Benjamin: formerly of the house of Saul
  • Ephraim: mighty men of valour, famous in their land
  • Half Tribe of Manasseh: men expressed by name to come to make David king
  • Issachar: men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do and 200 leaders with all their brethren
  • Zebulun: those come from battle, expert in war, with all weapons of war, they were not of double heart, not divided in their loyalty to David
  • Naphtali: 1,000 captains and men with shield and spear
  • Dan: expert in war
  • Asher: those come from battle, expert in war
  • Reuben, Gad and Half Tribe of Manasseh: all manner of weapons of war for battle

Lord, I’m here again as usual to begin another days prayer for Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today we see something interesting in how scriptures refer to all the tribes of Israel gathering together to transfer the kingdom of Saul over to David right after he was annointed king of Israel. Review the list of tribes in the summary just above (or the full text below) and you will see virtually all the tribes are referred to as sending men of valour, men bearing shields and spears, captains and leaders with all kinds of weapons, experts in war and ready for battle. They all came to turn over Saul’s kingdom to David. After this list of tribes, scriptures tell us they were all of one heart to make David king! But one thing seems to stand out as each of the tribes are listed. Look at Issachar! Yes, they had 200 leaders and all their people under their command similar to all the other tribes. However, this is the only tribe that scripture mentions one additional qualification, one extra quality. With Issachar came men that understood the times and knew what Israel out to do. And that is a quality that I pray over you today Lindsey. I pray that you can be ready for the battles that you will undoubtedly face, just like everyone should be alert, trained and ready. However, I pray that God would grant you the ability to understand the times. I pray that God would help you to see what is going on in your city, your state, your country. I pray also that God would also fill you with the knowledge of what people should do. Not just what YOU should do, but what the people in your country should do. And now an even bigger prayer. I pray that God would place you in a position where you can speak out what you see and what ought to be done. And I pray that God would protect you as you step out on the path he sets before you, for he will not send you and leave you alone. We know he will be with you every step of the way. Lord, I ask that you would often give Lindsey tangible things to remind her that you are there with her. And we will give the glory to you. The glory is all yours. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Full Text of Scripture:

For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.
And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord.

The children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the war.
Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred. And Jehoiada was the leader of the Aaronites, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred; And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father’s house twenty and two captains.
And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.
And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.
And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king.
And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.
Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.
And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.
And of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.
And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.
And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.

All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king. And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them. Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel. (1 Chronicles 12:22-40)

What do you love? The praise of men? The praise of God? Choose!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the ground under my feet. Thank you for solid ground below me and thank you for your Word which gives me solid ground as I walk with you on the path you set before me. And thank you for this scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. (John 12:42-43)

Lord, I’m here again, ready to lift up Lindsey to you, for she does indeed believe in you as the Christ and Messiah. Lindsey, today’s scripture talks about how many leaders truly believed in Jesus, but would not say so openly because they did not want to be expelled from the synagogue. And this warning seems to be for us today as well. Are we yearning for the praise from men more than from God? This scripture seems to tell us to act on what we believe is true, regardless of the consequences set on us by men. Lindsey, around the world people are killed for saying aloud that they believe in Jesus. Elsewhere, as in this scripture, people are kicked out of their temple for publicly acknowledging Jesus as their lord. And here in our country we see more and more people not willing to tell others that they believe in Jesus as the Messiah because they would lose the praise of the people around them, which they value more than praise from God. And so I pray this over you not Lindsey. I pray that you would have the courage to act on your belief in Jesus, regardless of the consequences. I pray that you would strive to receive praise from your God rather than simply praise and cheers from your fans. I pray that God would find ways to let you know when HE is praising you! And we will give him the glory. The glory is all his. Glory. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Rebuke from the Wise? Or Continual Praise by the Masses

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the many things that make up our reality in this world we live in. Things that are so interesting when I stop to look closely at them. This morning it was interesting how an apple packed last night inside a sealed zip-lock bag was completely wet this morning while still in that small sealed bag. And what is even more interesting is that it is water that appeared on the apple! Water is so interesting in all its many forms … especially snow, sleet, drizzle and mist. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. (Ecclesiastes 7:5)

Lord, it’s me again. I’m here as usual to pray on behalf of Lindsey. And today, Lindsey, is a serious reminder for you from King Solomon. In Ecclesiastes he included this serious insight into how to stay on track on the path God has set before us. He looks at things you may hear today. If you have godly people around you and you start getting a bit off track, they may rebuke you for what you are saying or doing.  Then you could just go look at your facebook or youtube and listen to many many people signing your praise. Solomon tells you which is better. Seek out good godly friends who will watch out for you Lindsey. And then consider their rebuke as far more precious than a thousand people singing your praise that day. And we will give the glory to God. Glory. The Glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Love Wisdom! Seek It Diligently and Find It!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for books. Thank you for language that lends itself to writing. Thank you for reading. Thank you that I can read something that someone else wrote. Thank you for how this writing and reading process works to allow us to see and hear things of the past in our own mind based on written accounts. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for Lindsey based on something Lady Wisdom says:

[Lady Wisdom speaking] I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. (Proverbs 8:17)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here on behalf of your daughter who loves you. Lord help her to also love Wisdom, for then Wisdom will love her right back! Lindsey, I pray that you will seek wisdom with all your heart. Seek wisdom every day and God promises that you will find it. Lord, since so many people are watching her, I ask that you give Lindsey an extra helping of wisdom from your Word as well as godly advisers. And we will give the glory to you. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings.  Amen (more…)

The Lord trains your hands and your fingers!

I welcome another new day with your Heavenly Father. Thank you for giving us your Word as our guide. Thank you for all the people who kept it intact and those who painstakingly translated it into English so we could read it. And thank you for this scripture to use for my prayer for your daughter Lindsey who you have given great skills in her hands and fingers:

Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: (Psalm 144:1)

and

And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen. (Exodus 35:25)

and

Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work. (Exodus 35:35)

Lord, I am excited to be here with you now so that I can pray these scriptures over your daughter Lindsey, who you have gifted with great skills with her hands and her fingers. Lord, she is using your gifts. She practices to perfect the skills you gave her … even while riding in a car (see 6 second video clip below). And now I pray for your Lindsey. I pray that you would continue to find ways to use the many skills that God has given you. Use them to inspire others. Be a role model for other girls and young women. Don’t be afraid to tell them that your skills are those given to you by your gracious and generous God. And we will give the glory to him. The glory goes to God. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
