What do you see?
Heavenly Father, thank you for my eyes. Eyes are so phenomenal I don’t understand how anyone can actually study how eyes function and not see your majestic creation looking back at them! And you didn’t just create one kind of eye, but many. I was thinking that insects have interesting eyes. Bats use “sonar” to “see” and more. I wanted to see if there were a list of the many different types of eyes, so I checked Wikipedia and found the main article: Eye – and then right near the top it was so sad to see their statement: “Simple eyes are rather ubiquitous, and lens-bearing eyes have evolved at least seven times...” So, the article goes into the many spectacular ways that eyes can function, but rather than marvel at this, the article makes statements about the eyes evolving may times! How could the eye just randomly appear? Lord, I thank you for the marvel of the various kinds of eyes and ask that you reveal your design to those researching it. A Scripture comes to mind (the same one from my prayer for your sister two days ago … The Voice translation, doesn’t beat around the bush … God’s magnificence in his creation is right there before their eyes:
19 These people are not ignorant about what can be known of God, because He has shown it to them with great clarity. 20 From the beginning, creation in its magnificence enlightens us to His nature. Creation itself makes His undying power and divine identity clear, even though they are invisible; and it voids the excuses and ignorant claims of these people (Romans 1:19-20 Voice)
Oh my!!! Eyes. This scripture is tying into this prayer in ways I didn’t expect or even think about! Thank you Lord. And thank you for the scriptures that you gave me to use for this prayer … scriptures that ask, ‘What do you see?”
Several times God asked Jeremiah this question:
Later the Lord asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I answered, “I see a branch of an almond tree.” (Jeremiah 1:11 NET)
And …
The Lord again asked me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a pot of boiling water; it is tipped toward us from the north.” (Jeremiah 1:13 NET)
And …
The Lord said to me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I answered, “I see figs. The good ones look very good. But the bad ones look very bad, so bad that they cannot be eaten.” (Jeremiah 24:3 NET)
And God spoke to Amos in a like manner, with the same question!
And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I answered, “A plumb line.” And the Lord replied, “I will test my people with this plumb line. I will no longer ignore all their sins. (Amos 7:8 NLT)
And again…
And he said, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the Lord said to me, “The end has come upon my people Israel; I will never again pass by them. (Amos 8:2 ESV)
And also to Zechariah:
And he said to me, “What do you see?” I said, “I see, and behold, a lampstand all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and seven lamps on it, with seven lips on each of the lamps that are on the top of it. (Zechariah 4:2 ESV)
And…
And he said to me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a flying scroll. Its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.” (Zechariah 5:2 ESV)
Lord, I have been listening to you. And in this listening I can see things. How amazing … the words that are coming to me as I write this prayer! I can see how I can see by listening carefully. Yet, seeing is with eyes that are your magnificent creation to give us sight to see your creation all around us! And so Lindsey, as I pray this over you, this simple question may not be quite as simple as I thought before I started this! Lord, I ask that you let Lindsey see. Open her eyes and her heart Lord. Open them like a camera opens wide to let more light in. Lindsey … just like shooting a music video! Let your eyes be like the camera… opened wide to see what is before you. Lord, I ask that you show Lindsey things right now, as she reads this. Show her more than what is merely before her eyes. Show her what it means. Giver her insight and understanding. And together we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I pray and ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen.
King James Version for your reference:
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:19-20)
and
11 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. (Jeremiah 1:11)
and
13 And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north. (Jeremiah 1:13)
and
3 Then said the Lord unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. (Jeremiah 24:3)
and
8 And the Lord said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more: (Amos 7:8)
and
2 And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the Lord unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more. (Amos 8:2)
and
2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: (Zechariah 4:2)
and
2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. (Zechariah 5:2)
Radiant!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for coffee. Thank you for a Wendy’s chocolate frosty. And thank you for reminding me to try combining them! The frosty cooled down the coffee so I did not need to add ice cubes. The frosty took the place of the cream. And it even took the place of the sugar. Thank you for a wonderful drink this morning! And thank you for an interesting scripture from Jeremiah for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all. Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. (Jeremiah 31:11-13)
The center piece of this scripture can be translated as being RADIANT when in the midst of the goodness of the Lord!
ESV:
they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord
NET:
They will be radiant with joy over the good things the Lord provides
NLT:
They will be radiant because of the Lord’s good gifts
HCSB:
they will be radiant with joy because of the Lord’s goodness
Lord, I’m here again. I was anxious to come see you this morning when I woke up for I wanted to begin another prayer for your daughter who enjoys singing and playing songs of joy to you. I ask that you find a way for her to come and sing to you today. Let her joy be evident to those around her. Let her glow as she delights in you Lord. Let her be radiant with joy while she is in the midst of your goodness. And we will give the glory to you. The glory is all yours Lord. Glory. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
I Pray That You Are Praying!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for another day. Thank you for my breath and my life. Thank you for always being with me. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
Lord, I’m here as usual to begin another day’s prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, today I am praying that you are praying! Yes indeed, because when you pray, God will listen. If you seek him with all your heart you will indeed find him. God has good plans for you… plans that give you a future and a hope… plans to prosper you. And so, I pray today that you will pray. God is waiting to hear from his daughter! Pray knowing God will answer you. And together let’s give him the glory. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Cling to God – You Have Seen Him Do Awesome Things
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for my taste. Thank you that I can taste my coffee. Thank you that I can taste the eggs. Thank you that I can differentiate the sweet taste of a donut from the sour taste of a grapefruit. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen. (Deuteronomy 10:20-21)
and
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. (Jeremiah 32:40)
Lord, I’m here again and ready for another day with you. But right now I wish to lift up Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Help her to cling to you. Help her to maintain her reverent fear of the Lord. Inspire this fear of the Lord in her heart Lord. Every day bring to mind some of the great and awesome things that she witnessed you doing. I ask that you never stop doing good for her. And we will give praise to you. We will give you the glory. All the glory is yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
When you boast, boast that you know Jesus
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Good Morning! I welcome the new day as a good day. You have declared it as good. Thank you for letting me see bits of your glory and beauty around me. Thank you for making this so clearly evident to me. And thank you for the scriptures to use for today’s prayer:
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:30-31)
It is written in Jeremiah:
23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. (Jeremiah 9:23-24)
Lord, I am here and ready to pray for your daughter Lindsey. I lift Lindsey up to you Lord. Today, Lindsey, I have another big prayer. Today I pray that you would find more ways to boast that you know Jesus. I pray that you would see ways to lift up his name. I pray that Jesus would make it clear to you that he loves you and that you are his friend. I pray that he would open doors for you and that in turn, you would acknowledge him before others, that you would be able to boast about knowing him! And we will give the glory to him. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Be one who admires! Be one who praises!
Despiser (despise) – Antonym: one who admires (admire) [dictionary]
Scoffer (scoff) – Antonym: one who praises (praise) [dictionary]
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for our minds. Thank you for minds that can see and wonder. Thank you for minds that can see letters and make out words; that can see words and make out sentences; that can see sentences and make out complete thoughts. Thank you for how our minds can understand what we see! And thank you for the scripture in the New Testament that refers back to several prophets of the Old Testament!
40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you. (Acts 13:40-41)
A prophet who spoke of this was Habakkuk:
5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. (Habakkuk 1:5)
2 Kings refers to prophets also saying this:
10 And the Lord spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
11 Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
12 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle. (2 Kings 21:10-12)
Jeremiah also spoke of God doing something so unbelievable that it makes your ears tingle:
3 And say, Hear ye the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle. (Jeremiah 19:3)
And so did Samuel:
11 And the Lord said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. (1 Samuel 3:11)
Lord, it’s me again. I’m here to pray for Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. Lindsey, today’s scriptures are quite interesting. On the one hand, the prophets of the old announced to the people that God was about to do something that would seem unbelievable to them, something that would make their ears tingle! The book of Acts tells about what Paul said in the Synagogue in Antioch, and how he used what the prophets of old had announced as a WARNING to those he was speaking to. Perhaps this can be a warning to us as well, Lindsey. Paul gave his warning to the “despisers” and the “scoffers”. He warned them and even said to take care that what the prophets spoke about does not happen to them! And who was the “them”? The despisers and scoffers! So, today I pray for you Lindsey. I pray that you would not be a scoffer nor a despiser. I pray that you would not be one who despises nor one who scoffs. I pray that you strive to be the opposite of this. Yes! I pray that you would be one who admires; one who praises! Lord, I ask that you give Lindsey many opportunities to show how she is one who admires and praises. And we will give the glory to you Lord. All the glory is yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Blessing: May the Lord be Your Hope and Confidence so You May Bear Much Good Fruit
I pray this blessing over you today Lindsey. As you trust in the Lord, may he be your hope and your confidence. May you be like a good tree planted along a river, with solid roots so that you may withstand both heat and drought maintaining your youth and bearing much good fruit.
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for this world and everything in it. Thank you for the many many little things that often go by unnoticed. Thank you for coffee, and not just one kind of coffee but dozens and dozens of kinds. Thank you for cocoa and all the varieties of hot chocolate. Thank you for mornings sitting with you with a coffee or hot chocolate. And thank you for the scripture to base my blessing over your daughter this day:
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
Lord, here I am. It’s me! I am here before your throne to pray for your daughter you love. I am here to bless her again this day. Lindsey, may you be blessed for trusting in the Lord. May he be your hope and confidence. May you be like a tree planted along side a stream with deep roots fed by its water. May you never be bothered by heat nor by drought. May your leaves always stay green and may you never stop producing good fruit. And we will give glory to the Lord. All the glory is his. I bless you today in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Blessing: Speak Good Words to Influence Others
As many around you celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day with green beer, I will celebrate it with another special blessing for you Lindsey. Where ever you go, be the mouth of the Lord, even when you are not speaking since your music goes with you and you influence others. May the Lord make you as a fortified wall, may he make you utterly secure so that you can influence those around you rather then let them influence you or make you afraid to tell the world about your beliefs, about your God who is there to save you, rescue you and keep you safe.
Heavenly Father, good morning. I welcome the day celebrating a godly man who the world refers to as Saint Patrick. Thank you for providing a day named with holy reference and may it provide an excuse for some people to find you. Thank you for drawing them to you this day. And thank you for the special blessing in scriptures that I can pray over your beloved daughter Lindsey today:
Therefore thus saith the Lord, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them. And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the Lord. And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible. (Jeremiah 15:19-21)
Lord, I am here again, ready to bless your daughter who loves you. Yes, today I pray this special blessing over you Lindsey, the blessing that I prayed at the very start of today’s prayer! While the world celebrates a godly man with drinking, may you celebrate this day acknowledging and praising our God Almighty. And we both can give all the glory to the Lord. The glory is all his. I pray this blessing over you in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(B) You are Blessed
Heavenly Father – Hello. When things are a bit confusing, I thank you for being always available for me to sit with, that you help bring clarity and understanding to situations here. Thank you for promising that if I draw near to you that you will draw near to me. And thank you for the scripture for the letter B for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
