You are being renewed day by day
Good evening Heavenly Father. Thank you for another day, another day anew. Thank you for the friends you have provided me. And, yes, thank you for hair! What a marvelous concept! Hair can bring out the beauty in people as it flows here and there accentuating various facial features. While I may not be able to see some of the details of a face as most people, I do see hair. And it is so amazing! And to think … each strand of hair is “alive” in that it grows and over the years can change color (without any assistance of hair coloring). Thank you for this very interesting part of the people you create! And thank you for the scripture to use for this prayer:
13 Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.
16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. (2Corinthians 4:13-20 ESV)
Lord, I’m still here. I am ready to pray for your daughter you love. I am here to pray for Lindsey! Lord, I ask that you grant her a spirit of faith… that you would increase her faith. I also ask that since she believes that you give her many opportunities to “speak”. Give her the words Lord. Remind her of things she already knows. Remind her that just as Jesus was raised … and so shall she. Yes, Lindsey, that is God’s promise and he is faithful to keep his promises. Always! And I also pray for you Lindsey that you never lose heart. There will be momentary afflictions … likely MANY of them. But each one is preparing you for a weight of glory! And it is this unseen aspect of our lives that is so important. I pray that you would grasp how the unseen are what is important. Things you see will pass away, but the unseen is eternal. Continue to take hold of that Lindsey. And together let’s praise the Lord. Let’s give all the glory to him. Yes. I pray this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen.
King James Version for your reference:
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Overcoming, persisting and never giving up
Good Morning Heavenly Father. What a wonderful morning. Such a bright sunny day, with wisps of clouds here and there and a gentle breeze. It reminds me of how marvelous you created this world. It is amazing. Your fingerprints are all over it! Thank you for loving us so much that you would go to such lengths to make this world so wonderful just for us. Thank you. And thank you for the scripture that talks about your daughter you love, your Lindsey!
8 We are experiencing trouble on every side, but are not crushed; we are perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 we are persecuted, but not abandoned; we are knocked down, but not destroyed, 10 always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our body. 11 For we who are alive are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our mortal body. (2Corinthians 4:8-11 NET)
Lord, it’s me. I’m sill here. Now I am here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. Lord, your Word seems to be talking about how she lives … how she lives for you! And so I pray this over you now Lindsey. Yes! Lindsey, you have experienced trouble on every side, but you have never been crushed. You have been in many perplexing situations around the world, yet you do not fall into despair! You have felt persecuted, but you know that God has never abandoned you. You have been knocked down more than once, even during a performance, but you always get up. You are persistent! Nothing has been able to destroy you. And in the midst of all this, you continue to always carry Jesus around within you. Everywhere that you go around the world, Jesus can be seen working in you. Yes, you are fully alive and energized even while constantly being delivered unto death for the sake of Jesus! And that is how Jesus is so visible in your mortal body. And so I pray now for you Lindsey. I pray that you could sense the presence of the Lord around you every day and that he would daily fill you with his joy. I pray that his joy within you would be a basis for your strength. I pray that the thousands of people who see you during your tour would see something special in you and wonder just what it it. And I pray that the Lord would open the eyes of those who find themselves wondering just that. I pray that they would want to live like that themselves. And we give the glory to the Lord. The glory is all his. All the glory, all the time. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen.
King James Version for your reference:
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
It is Your Testimony and The Blood of Jesus
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for truth. Thank you for revealing your truth to us. Thank you for Your Word. Thank you for your LIVING Word. Thank you for the excitement it brings me as I read it… as I see it all flow together… as it is my treasure or rather as it reminds me of the treasure that is in me. Thank you for being near. Thank you Lord. And thank you for the godly people you have set around me. And thank you for the scriptures to use for my prayer today for Lindsey:
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. (Revelation 12:10-12)
and
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10:19-22)
Lord, I am here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. She has a testimony Lord, and she is not afraid to tell it. So, I pray for Lindsey. I pray that you would always have confidence to come before God with your requests. I pray that you would boldly draw near to Jesus. I pray that you are not even afraid to die for him. It is by your testimony and the blood of Jesus that the evil one is thrown down and overcome. But you need to stay alert, for he knows that his time is short and he wants to destroy all that he can. So I pray that each day you put on the full armor of God. I pray that each day you find time to walk and talk with God. And I pray that you always seek out godly people to help you when you need their help. And together we can give the glory to God. All the glory is his. Glory. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Gain the Whole World but Lose Your Soul? Choose Wisely!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the air we breathe. Thank you for how refreshing a breath of fresh air can be. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
[Jesus speaking] And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (Mark 8:34-38)
Lord, I’m here. I’m here again as usual. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, this scripture is interesting how Jesus clearly lets us know that if we try to get ahead in this world while ignoring him, that he in turn will be ashamed of us when he comes again. So I pray that as you become more and more popular in the eyes of the world, that you will continue to give the credit and the glory to God. I pray that any time you face a choice of advancing in this world by ignoring Jesus that you will always make a good choice. I pray for extra wisdom for you Lindsey. I pray that you will always have good people around you to advise you when the world gets so very tempting. I pray that you would never be ashamed to tell people that you follow Jesus and center you life around him. And together we can give the glory to God. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
You are not far from the kingdom of God!
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for inquisitive minds. Thank you for inventive minds. Thank you for reasoning minds. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. (Mark 12:29-34)
Lord, I’m here again to sit with you. And right now I wish to lift up Lindsey, your daughter who loves you with all her heart, soul and strength. And so I ask that you show her that she is not far from the kingdom of God today. Show her how close she is to your Kingdom Lord. Give her a word or a vision. Let this knowledge help her to walk closer to you each day. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Who Will You Eat With?
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for walking. Thank you for my knees that work so well. Thank you for my feet that know where they are going. Yes, thank you for how my body can just work together so well to accomplish a walk in the city with you! And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? (Mark 2:15-16)
Lord, it’s me again. I’m back again as usual to begin a new day’s prayer for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, today it seems that this may be an unusual prayer, for I am praying that you continue to be careful who you eat and drink with. And I really need to include myself in this prayer as well. We need to be careful to often find ways to sit with the lost. We need to fine time for them and not just for our friends. So, I pray that God would grant us favor in this. I ask that he would open doors of opportunity to eat and drink with publicans, tax collectors and sinners. I ask that he enlarge our hearts for them. I also ask that he guard our hearts so that we can be the light to the world and not be led astray ourselves. I pray that God would guard our minds if people start wondering about who we are sitting with. I ask that he give us the words whenever we need them. And together we will give him the glory. The glory all goes to him. Glory. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Watch where you look. Focus on Jesus and run with patience and endurance
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for music. Thank you for uplifting songs and how they can be inspiring even without words. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
Lord, here I am as usual. I am hear to lift up Lindsey, your daughter who loves you greatly. Lord, I ask that you surround her with so many witnesses that she’d be encouraged to lay aside everything that leads to sin. Lindsey, you have the endurance to run the race. Just keep your eyes on Jesus. Focus on Jesus. Remember he considered it a joy to be shamed and hung on a cross to redeem you. You are God’s redeemed daughter! And now Jesus sits at the right hand of the throne of God and is cheering you on. He is saying “Look at her go!”. Lord, I ask that you remove any distractions that pop up before Lindsey. Remove things that try to pull her eyes away from Jesus. Lindsey, remember you are not running a sprint … you are running a marathon. With tears I pray for you as you are in the midst of this race, this journey of life. Everything won’t work out right. You can’t control everything. However, God IS in control and he will make things work out right. Just keep on running with him. Just keep looking at the ultimate goal. Don’t veer to the right or the left. Keep focused on Jesus. And we will give all the glory to him. To him is all the glory. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ. Amen (more…)
Qualified? YES! With Integrity!
Note: “savour” can also be translated as “fragrance” and “aroma” – refer to the original Greek words (yes KJV validly translates two different words as “savour”, but both are slightly different words)
* Strong word G3744 ( ὀσμή ) – a smell, aroma, fragrance – From ozo; fragrance (literally or figuratively) — odour, savour.
** Strong word G2175 ( εὐωδία ) – a sweet smell, fragrance – From a compound of eu and a derivative of ozo; good-scentedness, i.e. Fragrance — sweet savour (smell, -smelling).
Hello Heavenly Father. What a world! What a wonderful world you created for us. A world full of wonders, full of amazing things. Birds that fly backwards, squirrels that glide smoothly through the air, spiders that seem to float across to where they want to go. Thank you for the many unique parts of your complex creation. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter, Lindsey, that speaks of having a character that is like a sweet savor** (fragrance or aroma):
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour* of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour** of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour* of death unto death; and to the other the savour* of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:14-17)
Lord, I’m here to pray for your daughter again today. Lindsey, I am one of those who while shopping look for “fragrance free” products. Fragrances bother my eyes and even affect my breathing, even if it is just a faint fragrance. So I totally understand the power of a fragrance. The fragrance is noticeable even when I am not looking for it so to speak. When someone with perfume is nearby, the fragrance just seems to be all around me when I am near them. Others may find sweet smells pleasant but still are affected by “bad” smells (a stench). What scripture seems to be saying is that we can live our lives so that we are sweetly noticeable wherever we go. And so that is my prayer for you today Lindsey. I pray that you would continue to live your life with integrity, and that would be sufficient. I pray that your character and sincerity would have the same effect as a sweet aroma, and that would qualify you to not corrupt the Word of God, but to speak it in truth, in Christ. And the glory all is to God. Glory. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
Get Alone! Jesus Often Did!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for being our provider. My family has everything that we need. Thank you for being so generous and help me to be generous today as well. And thank you for the scriptures for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Once Jesus was famous, he had to withdraw away from the multitudes:
But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. (Luke 5:15-16)
Other times Jesus had to send the crowds away so that he could be by himself to pray:
And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. (Matthew 14:22-23)
And then there were times Jesus would get up early to be alone to pray and left to travel to another town even though crowds had gathered to see him:
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. (Mark 1:35-38)
Lord, it’s me. I’m here as usual to pray for your daughter who loves you. You have gifted her with great talent and skills. And she uses those talents well. So much that she has become famous. And so these scriptures apply especially to you Lindsey! As Jesus became famous we are told that he had to make a point withdraw to secluded places to pray. He needed time alone. And so that is my prayer for you Lindsey. I pray that you recognize the need to get a way and be with alone with your God. At times you may need to dismiss the crowds. At other times you may need to sneak away someplace on your own (though you may want to tell someone where you are going:) Lord, I ask that any time that Lindsey goes off alone to be with you that you would let her know that you are there with her. I ask that you hear her prayers and desires of her heart. I ask that you answer her in a way that she can hear you clearly and know it is you. And we will give the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. Glory. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Jesus Loves You. He Died for You. He Rose and So Now May Others See Jesus in Your Eyes
Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for shoes (and socks). Thank you for protecting my feet everywhere I walk. Thank you for walking with me. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
Lord, I’m here as usual to begin this days prayer for your daughter you love. And the scripture for this prayer refers to your love for her. Lindsey, Jesus loves you. He gave himself for you by being whipped and crucified. He loves you so much that he said it was like a joy to do this for you*. But though he did die for you, he also rose again. Not only that, but as you live by faith in Jesus he is living in you! So that is the reason that I can pray that you may live your life in a way that others can see Jesus in your eyes. And why not!? He is living in you after all! So let today be a special day where Jesus makes himself evident within you. And we will give the glory to him. The glory is all his. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
* Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
