(K) Kezia – Fairest in the Land

Lindsey, today I pray that like Kezia there would be an inheritance given to you. I pray that you would be the fairest in the land (remembering that there is no such thing as a magic mirror!)

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the night sky. Thank you for the heavens at night. Thank you for the moon which gradually changes it’s appearance over the course of a month. Thank you for the stars in the sky and for the constellations that can be made from them. Thank you for beauty in the heavens as well as in the land. And thank you for Job’s daughter Kezia, for the letter K as we go through Women in the Bible:

And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch. And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. (Job 42:14-15)

Lord,  I am here again. I’m here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey, the daughter who loves you! I’m here to begin another daily prayer for her. Lindsey, today’s prayer may be simple, but it is meaningful as well. For today I pray that there would be an inheritance for you, just as there was for Kezia. And I truly pray that you would be like Kezia and be called the fairest in the land. I pray that this would not be something prideful or arrogant, but that you would be fairest as well as gentle, meek and compassionate. I pray that these virtues would be granted to you in combination so that they blend together so that both in the eyes of God as well as the eyes of the world that it would be said no women could be found as fair as you. But we will give the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(J) Jehoshabeath (Jehosheba) – Courage and Compassion

Lindsey, I have been waiting for the letter J to come up so that I could pray that you would have the same courage and compassion as Jehoshabeath had. She risked her own life while trying to save the life of Joash who was just one years old. I pray that you would be filled with this same courage and compassion and that you would not be afraid to act on it.

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the beautiful flowers on the trees, which only last a few days. But you still created that beauty for us to see. Thank you for the way you display your glory all around us. And thank you for the story of Jehoshabeath, the woman of the Bible for the letter J:

But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah. But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not. And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land. (2 Chronicles 22:10-12)

Lord, I am here again. I enjoy sitting with you. I enjoy coming to pray for your daughter Lindsey who you love. Lindsey, today I pray a big prayer. This is a big prayer because it can mean that you will lay everything on the line. But it is worth it, so I pray that God would fill you with the same extreme courage and compassion that Jehoshabeath had. I pray that God would let you see when this courage and compassion is needed and that you would not be afraid to step out at that time. I pray that God would grant you more wisdom and discernment this day. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Jesus Christ, King of kings. Amen

(I) Image of God – Eve

Lindsey, you are made in the image of God, just as Eve was. You have received many good things just as she did. I pray that you would be content with all that you have and not desire the one thing that you can’t have (the apple of that one forbidden tree).

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for the cool breeze and the warm sunshine. Thank you for the wisps of clouds in the sky. Thank you for the birds singing in the distance. Thank you for your wonderful creation that you made just for us. And thank you for the scripture for the next woman in the Bible, Eve, who you made in your image, for the letter I:

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:27)

and

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3)

Lord, here I am. I am ready to pray for Lindsey, your daughter again today. Lindsey, I pray that you would be able to resist the devil and that your mind would not be corrupted. I pray that God would protect you for you are his daughter, created in his image. He loves you Lindsey. I pray that your mind would resist making this complicated when it really is quite simple. I pray the simplicity that is in Christ over you. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

(H) Hannah – God’s gracious response to her prayer

Lindsey, I pray today that God will hear your prayers when you pour out your soul before the Lord. May the Lord hear your prayers coming direct from your heart. May the Lord grant your request as he granted Hannah’s request.

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for letting me taste things. Taste is fantastic, yet so often we just take it for granted. But today, I thank you for taste! And I also thank you for the scriptures about Hannah that I can use for Women in the Bible for the letter H:

And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli marked her mouth. Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.  And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto. Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him. (1 Samuel 1:12-17)

Lord, I’m here again. I am here as always to pray for your daughter Lindsey. And today I pray that Hannah may be a model for you. She prayed to God from her heart … no sounds at all.  And God heard her prayer and answered her request. And she then praised God (see chapter 2). So, today I pray that whenever situations become intense or overwhelming that you would  follow Hannah’s example and pour out your soul to the Lord, expecting him to answer you. Yes … and I pray that God would indeed hear your prayers, hear your requests and that he would answer you clearly. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen  (more…)

(G) Gomer – Loved even when undeserving of love

Lindsey, today’s scripture regarding Gomer is a hard one for me. But it seems that perhaps it is pointing out to us how God has purchased us out of slavery with the blood of his only Son Jesus. Gomer was an example of a woman who was loved even when she did not deserve to be loved, and she was purchased back. Likewise there were name changes that refer back to her two children – “not loved” was shown love and “not my people” became God’s people. I pray that you will find ways to remind people that God loves them.

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for all the many “God co-incidences” that you have let me be part of! And thank you for the scripture around Gomer, the woman for the letter G:

Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine. So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley: (Hosea 3:1-2)

Lord, I’m here again. The scripture is intriguing so I ask your help in this prayer. I ask that you give me the words! Lindsey, today I am praying that you would watch for ways that you can show those around you how God loves them. I pray that they not only would see Jesus in you, but that they also would experience God’s love for them, regardless of how bad their past has been. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(F) Female Disciples (MANY Good Role Models)

Lindsey, you too are a disciple of Jesus, as you have acknowledged him publicly. I pray that you would stay true to him regardless of circumstances that you may not fully understand, just as his female disciples followed him to the cross, to the empty tomb and beyond. I pray that God would grant you great insight and discernment through all the days of your journey.

Good Morning Heavenly Father. I welcome another day. Another day with you. A day anew … anew with you! Thank you for sleep which lets my mind and body relax and rest. Thank you for waking me in the morning and presenting me with another day filled with your glory and beauty. And thank you for the scripture to use for the letter F, for Female Disciples:

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. (Luke 8:1-3)

Lord, here I am to pray for your daughter Lindsey. She is one of your female disciples today and so the scriptures for today are very applicable. Lindsey, I pray that you would continue to be a disciple of Jesus. I pray that the women in scriptures would be role models for you. They followed Jesus all the way to the cross and then even to the empty tomb! They ministered to him and supported him. I pray that you too would follow Jesus to the cross and the resurrection and that you too would be a role model for the young women today. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(E) Esther – Courage for a Time Such As This

Lindsey, may you have the courage of Esther, for you too are here for a time such as this. May God grant you the grace to act courageously and wisely. God knows your weakness, your strength and your potential. Have faith in God and in his power, especially when he asks hard things of you.

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the squirrels playing tag in our back yard. Thank you for the birds perched in our trees. Thank you for all your wonderful creation. And thank you for the book of Esther which provides a woman in the Bible for the letter E:

Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? (Esther 4:13-14)

Lord, here I am. I came to sit with you. To sit and talk. And to pray for your daughter Lindsey, who you love. I pray now for you Lindsey. I pray that God would let you know what he has planned for you, as you may be here for such a time as this. I pray that God will grant you extra courage as well as extra wisdom that you will need on your journey. I pray that God would increase your faith in him and in his power, especially when things get hard for you. And we can give God all the glory. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

(D) Deborah – Prophetess, Patriot and Poet

Lindsey, may those around you see your godly strength and leadership, just like they looked up to Deborah. May they see the  wisdom and joy of the Lord in you and may you be a role model for the young women today.

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the bright sunshine in the morning. Thank you for waking me this morning. Thank you for the godly people you surrounded me with in the morning. And thank you for the woman in the Bible for the letter D – Deborah:

And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand. And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go. And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh. (Judges 4:4-9)

Lord, I’m here again. I am ready to pray for Lindsey, your daughter, based on what scriptures say about Deborah. Lindsey, I pray that you would continue to find your strength in the Lord so that you may confidently stand before others and let your faith shine forth. I pray that the joy of the Lord would fill you and carry you on your walk. I pray that you can write a song just like Deborah wrote “The Song of Deborah”. And I pray that those around you would look to you for godly wisdom. And we will give all the glory to the Lord. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings.  Amen

(C) Crippled Woman Glorifies God When Healed

Lindsey, may you be a blessing to the disabled (such as the crippled woman Jesus called forward) and lift their eyes to heaven.

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the stars we can see in the night sky. Thank you creating them, not just a few hundred or even a few thousand, but millions and billions of stars. Thank you for revealing to us how you are an extravagant God. Thank you for extending your extravagance to each of us and our needs. And thank you for the scripture to use for the letter C as I pray through women in the Bible for your daughter Lindsey:

And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. (Luke 13:10-13)

Lord, here I am again. I’m here as every day to pray for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Today, Lindsey, I pray that God would provide you with opportunities to minister to those around you who are crippled or disabled. I pray that God would increase your compassion and open your eyes and your heart to the needy around you. May the Lord fill you with joy and may that joy of the Lord be your strength as you meet people on your daily journeys. And we can give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

(B) Bleeding Woman – Touched Jesus, Healed by her Faith

Lindsey, may you have faith like the bleeding woman and may you be healed and made whole!

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for the new day. Thank you that each day we can start anew. Thank you for my breath, my life, my health. And thank you for the scripture to use as I pray through women in the Bible from A to Z, the scripture regarding the bleeding woman:

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. (Matthew 9:20-22)

Lord, it’s me again. I’m here to pray for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, I pray that you would have the same faith that the bleeding woman had. I pray that whenever you are in need of healing, that you would ask the Lord to come and touch you, just as the bleeding woman had touched Jesus on that day almost 2,000 years ago. I pray that you would be able to hear Jesus say to you, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
