Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for my many meals, the food you provide for me. Thank you for being my provider today as well as every day in the past. Thank you for assuring me that you will be my provider in the days to come as well. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey with something that Jesus said:
[Jesus said:] Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:1-4)
Lord, here I am again. I am here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey again as usual. My prayer for you today Lindsey is interesting because you have placed yourself in the public eye and in this way quite a bit of what you do is seen by others. So I pray that today you would find ways to be charitable to others without anyone knowing it was you. I pray that opportunities will appear for you to be a secret Santa for others today. And God, who sees all you do will reward you (rather than be rewarded by man). And all the glory goes to God. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
NKJV:
Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
NET:
Be careful not to display your righteousness merely to be seen by people. Otherwise you have no reward with your Father in heaven. Thus whenever you do charitable giving, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in synagogues and on streets so that people will praise them. I tell you the truth, they have their reward. But when you do your giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your gift may be in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
