(N) You have a New Song
Good Morning Heavenly Father! I saw several kinds of birds the other day. Thank you for taking care of them even in the middle of a freezing cold winter! Thank you for the many birds and animals that you created and watch over. Thank you for creating each of us in your image and watching over us as well. And thank you for the scripture to use for my prayer this day for the letter N:
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:3)
Lord, I’m here again… I came to sit with you and to lift up your daughter Lindsey. She has music in her and expresses it in ways that encourage many people. So today I ask that you teach her a new song, that you put a new song in her heart, and that you help her to express it for others to hear. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(M) You are Made by God
Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you the bright sun shiny day, welcome in the midst of winter. Thank you for holding everything together. Thank you for being our guide. Thank you for my life and my breath and for the scripture for the letter M that reminds us that you have made us:
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. (Psalm 100:3)
Lord, I’m here again, as usual, to pray for your daughter Lindsey. You made her Lord. And she acknowledges that you Lord are God. She knows this! Today I ask that you call to her mind your wonders, that you made her, that she is yours, part of your people, part of your flock. You made her Lord, and we know that you will watch over her. And so we give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(I) You are the Image of God
Heavenly Father, thank you for the clean fresh air this morning. Thank you for the warm clothes and jacket so I can go out into the brisk morning air where I can exhale and a bit of a mist appears coming out of my mouth. Thank you for the phrase “you can see your breath”… interesting … it was in the beginning of Genesis that we read how you created men and women in your image:
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:27)
And then just a few paragraphs later we read about this creation in another very interesting way … which relates to how I can “see my breath” … for scriptures say that your breath was life … that you breathed life into man:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)
Lord, here I am. Here I am as usual. Here I am as I am each day to sit with you and to lift up your daughter Lindsey in prayer. And today you gave me two scriptures to use for my prayer! And so I pray them both over your daughter and I ask that you find ways to remind her that you created her in your image and that you breathed life into her. Lord, I ask that you breathe a fresh blast of life into her this day. Totally refresh her with new life, new energy, new vigor. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(G) You are Crowned with Glory and Honor
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Wow, what a beautiful and extremely bright moon in the early morning sky this morning. Thank you for creating this wonderful world with it’s moon at night and the sun in the day. And thank you for the scripture that is for your daughter Lindsey for the letter G:
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. (Psalm 8:5)
Lord, how nice to come sit with you again, to find rest sitting with you. I am here on behalf of your daughter you love again today. You have crowned her with both glory and with honor. I ask that as she goes about her day today that everyone she meets can see that glory and sense that honor. Let her carry this glory and honor with her wherever she goes this day. And we will give you all the glory and praise. I ask this in the name and with the authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(F) You are Favored by God
Heavenly Father, thank you for your rest … rest in you regardless of my situations. Thank you for always being with me. Thank you for being my guide. And thank you for the scripture for the letter F to use for my prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. (Psalm 5:12)
Lord, it is a joy to come before you on behalf of your daughter Lindsey who strives to be righteous each and every day. And so today, I ask that you compass her with your favor, that you will cover her and surround her with your favor like a shield. I ask that this shield fully protect her from any attacks the enemy may aim at her. Keep her fully shielded within your favor Lord. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(D) You are Delightful to God
Heavenly Father, Good Morning, Good Day, Good Evening and Good Night. All is good when I am walking with you. Perhaps not pleasant, perhaps not easy, but definitely good. And I am delighted that the scripture to use in my prayer for the letter D is one that reminds us how you delight in us:
He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. (Psalm 18:19)
Lord, I’m here again as usual. I’m here on behalf of you daughter Lindsey. She tries to walk with you where you lead. And today I ask that you let her feel how delighted you are with her. Let her know that you will rescue and deliver her BECAUSE you are delighted in her! Show her your delight this day Lord. And we will in turn give you the glory. All the glory is yours. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
(B) You are Blessed
Heavenly Father – Hello. When things are a bit confusing, I thank you for being always available for me to sit with, that you help bring clarity and understanding to situations here. Thank you for promising that if I draw near to you that you will draw near to me. And thank you for the scripture for the letter B for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. (Jeremiah 17:7)
Lord, I need rest, but I also know that when I need rest I need to sit with you more, and so here I am lifting up your daughter to you. Lord, Lindsey trusts in you and places her hope and confidence in you. And so I ask that you bless her this day. Bless her in the morning, noon and night. Let her feel your blessing upon her this day Lord. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength
Heavenly Father, here I am to welcome this new day with you, for this day is holy to you Lord. Thank you for the clean clear air that I breathe. Thank you for the people around me, the community you placed me in. Thank you for your Word and for the portion that I am to use for my prayer this morning, my prayer for your daughter you love:
So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved. And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them. (Nehemiah 8:8-12)
Lord, here I am. It’s me again. I came to sit with you this morning as usual and to lift up Lindsey to you. She needs your strength this day, so I ask that you fill her with your joy and let your joy be her strength. Let her be filled with your joy so that those around her can see it in her eyes. And I also pray that you will meet with her as she reads your word today, and every day as it is her goal to meet with you daily. Let this day be holy to you Lord as you sit with her and bring meaning to the words that she reads so that she may understand them. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Rest in Hope and Rejoice that God is always with you!
Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for being here with me always. Thank you for letting me feel your presence all around me. Yes, my heart is glad in this and I rejoice! Thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:
I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. (Psalm 16:7-9)
Lord, often I come to you for rest and this scripture speaks to that need … that I can come to you and I can just rest. And today in my prayer for Lindsey I ask that she may find this rest in you. Let her heart be glad allowing her this rest Lord. And I ask that you be her counsel, that you be her guide today. Be always with her and let her be aware of your presence. Give her confidence knowing that if you are there with her she will not be shaken, she will not be moved! And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
Continue to Cling to the Lord your God
Heavenly Father, Good Morning! Thank you for a warm room to wake up in. Thank you for a car to drive to church in. Thank you for your church! And thank you for your Word that you left for us as a guide for my life. Thank you for the scripture to use in my prayer this morning:
But cleave unto the Lord your God, as ye have done unto this day. (Joshua 23:8)
Lord, how wonderful to know that any time I wish I can come to you and you will sit with me. Right now I am here to lift up Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. I ask that you sit with her today, that you would hear her prayers and that you would answer her in a way that she knows it is you. I ask that you be with her so that she can see how clinging to you gives her the best life. She has been clinging to you already, she has done this unto this day. Now I ask that you give her added joy as she clings to you today. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
