Make Melodies in your Heart to the Lord

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the night sky. Thank you for the moon as it cycles night by night for 28 nights. And thank you for the many points of light in the dark sky. Thank you for being an extravagant God who didn’t create just a few hundred stars for us to see at night … but billions of stars! Thank you for letting this be just one example we can follow as we also try to be extravagant towards others. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; (Ephesians 5:18-20)

Lord, I’m here again as usual to begin another day’s prayer for your daughter who loves you. I pray that you would fill Lindsey with your Spirit as your scripture promises and that she also would find new melodies in her heart. Melodies that she can turn into beautiful uplifting songs. And Lindsey, remember to always give thanks for everything to God and the Father in the name of Christ Jesus. And we will give the glory to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

NASB:
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

NKJV:
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

KJV translation note

The King James Version is a beautiful translation of the original Hebrew and Greek, however I sometimes find Old English hard to understand fully. 1 or 2 other translations can help clarify what it is saying so I can understand it. More Info CLICK: References
