May you have great and exceeding joy today!
Heavenly Father, thank you for watching over me day and night. Thank you for your Word that is a glorious gift to us. Thank you for helping me to understand it as I read it over and over so that it can almost seem like it is part of me! And thank you for the scripture to use for my prayer this day for your daughter Lindsey:
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude 1:24-25)
Lord, I could hardly wait to come sit with you today. For today it seems like a celebration for your daughter you love! I ask that you keep her from stumbling or falling as you bring her before your glorious presence and that you grant her a great and exceeding joy today. Let her be more joyful than usual today. Let everyone who sees her notice the joy bubbling from within her. And we will give you the glory. The glory and majesty are yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)
You are a royal priesthood to proclaim praises of the God who called you from darkness into his marvelous light
Hello Heavenly Father. Thank you for the dexterity and quick coordination of my fingers as they type this prayer. My fingers seem to know exactly where to go to type the words to match the thoughts as they run through my mind without my needing to even look at them or at the keyboard. What a miracle this is. Perhaps it is similar to how your daughter can play the violin as if it were all part of her. While I can’t seem to understand how it all “works”, I can say thank you for it, as it points to your wonderful design when you created us. And thank you for the scripture to use for my prayer today for your daughter:
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9)
Lord, it’s me again, coming to sit with you to rest a bit as you take me on this wild ride, from tears, to excitement, to royalty and prayer. Yesterdays scripture for your daughter was from royalty. Today’s is to royalty as you remind Lindsey that she can sing and play praises to you for she is called into your marvelous light. And so I ask that you open her eyes to see this marvelous light. Let it be her inspiration for her praises this day. Provide her with the opportunity to show praises of you. Yes, let all the glory be to you Lord. We give you the glory. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
You are a child of God, a daughter of God!
Heavenly Father, thank you for watching over my family the past week. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for guiding me. Thank you for all your many blessings. And thank you for the scripture to use in my first prayer for the next set of 40 prayers for your daughter Lindsey:
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:26-29)
Lord, what a joy to be here with you again today. I am here today to lift up the daughter you love and to begin another set of daily prayers for her. And today I ask that you find a way to remind her that she truly is a daughter of God. She has put her faith in Jesus and is now a child of God and an heir according to the promise. Lord, you are Lindsey’s loving father so I ask that you walk with her today. I ask that you sit with her. I ask that you comfort her while you sing over her. Let her know that you are there with her. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
(Z) God is Zealous
Good Morning Heavenly Father! What a wonderful day, for today I use the letter Z for my daily prayer for your daughter Lindsey … and it is the end of the first 40 days of prayers for her! Thank you for providing a scripture for me to use each of those 40 days. Thank you for giving me words for the prayers. Thank you for helping me each day as I come before you to lift up your daughter you love so much. And thank you for the scripture for day number 40:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)
Lord, it is me again … and if you are asking who will go and pray for your daughter Lindsey, I say “I will”. And when you ask where are you, I say “Here I am!” And for this day, I enjoy praying about your zeal, for Lindsey also is zealous for the good! She takes up each project that you set before her, and WITH YOU she knows she can do it, so she puts her whole heart into it. She is zealous to perform the projects you set before her. And so I ask today that you would help her to keep her zeal aimed only for the good. Peter wrote about this:
Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? (1 Peter 3:13 ESV)
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be zealous of that which is good? (1 Peter 3:13 ASV)
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? (1 Peter 3:13 KJV) (interlinear of Hebrew/English)
So, Lord, I ask that you help Lindsey stay zealous. Yes, help her to stay zealous for what is good! And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
(Y) Jesus’s Yoke is Easy and his Burden is Light
Heavenly Father, I welcome the new day with you. Thank you for the majestic sunrise. Thank you for showing how you value uniqueness in that each sunrise can be different, some pink, some orange, some with wisps of clouds, others with a mist or a fog. Different from an island or from the bottom of a mountain. Different from within a dense forest or on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Different in summer and in winter. Even near nonexistent near the north or south pole! Thank you Lord. And thank you for the scripture for today that reminds us that Jesus promised that his yoke was easy:
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30)
Lord, what an exciting time. Tomorrow I finish my first 40 days of prayers for your daughter Lindsey with a prayer based on the letter Z. Today I am happy to pray for Lindsey, that you would remind her that your yoke is easy. It is not something to be avoided at all costs. Remind her that your burden is light – it is not a heavy burden. Let her see this with her own eyes and her own heart today. I ask that today she would find your yoke extremely easy and your burden very light. And we will give you the glory Lord. All the glory is yours. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
(V) Jesus is the Vine
Heavenly Father, thank you for light. It just occurred to me that without light, our eyes would see nothing. The beauty of the trees, of flowers, of flying birds would all go unnoticed if there were no light. Thank you for light! And thank you for revealing to us with the letter V that Jesus is the vine, we are the branches and without him, we can do nothing!
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:5)
Lord, it is so fantastic living in this world with you. Living life without you is almost incomprehensible to me at times. And so it is with great joy that I am here with you again, as I am each day. I am here to lift up your daughter Lindsey, and to ask that you continue to be the strong vine for her. She is abiding in you, and so I ask that you let her bear much fruit. She knows that she can do nothing without you, and so this day she sets out to see what she can do WITH you! Lord, I ask that you continue to show her the way to go. I ask that you continue to surround her with godly men and women. And I ask that you let her see the amazing fruit that she has been producing – fruit that she never would have dreamed about ten years ago. And I further ask that as she continues to walk with you and to work with you that her fruit will continue to be overflowing. And we will give you all the credit Lord. All the credit and all the glory is yours. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, the vine that we abide in. Amen. (more…)
(T) Jesus is the Truth
Heavenly Father, thank you for keeping me safe and secure. Thank you for reminding me of the truth when presented by lies of the world. Thank you for blessing me with discernment to know when something spoken is truth or a lie. And thank you for the scripture for my prayer referencing the letter T as I pray again for your daughter Lindsey:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
Lord, here I am again, as usual, ready to pray for your daughter Lindsey who loves you so much. I ask that you increase her discernment today. That you make it easier for her to distinguish between what is truth and what is NOT! Open her eyes to the truth, open her mind to the truth, open her heart to your truth. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, the way, the truth and the life. Amen. (more…)
(R) God Rejoices
Heavenly Father – Yay! From Q for quiet to R for rejoicing. Thank you for revealing bits of yourself to us in your Word! It seems Paul understood this when writing to the Philippians when he told them to rejoice always. We should rejoice because you rejoice! Thank you for giving us so many ways to rejoice. With singing, with dance, with laughter. Thank you for the scripture to use in my prayer this day:
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17)
Lord, I come here before you with joy and with singing. I come here to joyfully lift up your daughter you love, to lift up Lindsey, your daughter as you sing joyfully over her. And I pray that she, in turn, will rejoice with you today. Let her rest in your love as you calm all her fears. You are mighty, Lord, but you are singing and rejoicing as well. Let Lindsey feel your delight in her today. Let her be inspired by your joy and your singing. Rather than put this inspiration into words, let her put it to music. Let her music resound through the room and into the heavens. And we will give you the glory Lord. All the glory is yours. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
(O) God is Omnipotent, the Almighty God
Hello Heavenly Father! Thank you for your many blessings you have showered upon me and my family. Thank you for being our provider as well as our protector. Thank you for being my guide. And thank you for the scripture that tells about you for the letter O … that you are Omnipotent and Almighty:
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. (Revelation 19:5-6)
Lord, here I am again as I continue to come each day to lift up Lindsey, your daughter you love. And today I ask that you add her praise to mine as we lift our praise to you our God saying Alleluia, our God omnipotent reigns. Alleluia, for our Lord God Almighty reigns! I pray that you would come sit with Lindsey this day, that you would let her see a bit more of your power, your glory, your greatness! Yes, and we in turn will give all the glory to you Lord. All the glory is yours! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen. (more…)
(N) God is Nigh; God is Near
Good Morning Heavenly Father! Thank you for waking me to welcome another glorious marvelous day. Thank you for watching over me during the night and guiding me during the day. Thank you for the godly people you place in my path this day as you always have in the past decade! And thank you for the scripture that reminds us that you are nigh, that you are near. I just need to draw near to you and you draw even nearer to me. I just need to call on you and there you are – near to me! Thank you for the scripture that reminds us of this for the letter N this day:
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. (Psalm 145:18)
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:8)
Lord, I have been anxious to come and be with you now. I am eager to come near to you. And now I wish to ask something for your daughter Lindsey. Lord, I ask that you be near to her today. Even more than usual. Be near to her the entire day so that she can truly sense your presence all around her. And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this in the name and with the authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen.
Define: nigh – near in space, time or relation (see dictionary.com)
