Watch who you sit, stand and walk with. Delight in God’s Word.

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for quiet. Thank for the still moments in the day and the night that we can pause to meditate upon your Word. Thank you for this delight. Thank you for bringing meaning to the words in your Word and bringing it alive for us. And thank you for the scripture for your daughter Lindsey today:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter you love. She strives to avoid walking according to the advice of the ungodly. Lord, I ask that you surround her with godly advisers. Lord, I ask that people she trusts will give her godly advice. Lindsey, I pray that you find delight in God’s Word each day as you read it. I pray that you find joy in meditating over it’s words. I pray that you find ways to rejoice in how God’s Word shows you how to live. I ask that the Lord would light the way before you today and give you the courage you need to walk on that path. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Consider the great joy in knowing that Jesus has risen

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for community. Thank you for how the staff in restaurants can be such a good example of how to serve others. Thank you for that same serving attitude that I see around me. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. (Matthew 28:7-8)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey. Lindsey, today’s scripture paints an interesting picture of joy… the joy of realizing that Jesus rose from the dead! I pray that you would find more of this joy today as you consider something you already know a bit more carefully. Joy is something we want to share. So, I pray that you will have the opportunity today to share your great joy that Jesus is risen with other disciples around you. And we will give the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Gladness can accompany times of sacrifice and offerings

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for watching over me during the night and refreshing me when I wake so that I can start the day anew with you. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God. (Numbers 10:10)

Lord, I’m here. I am here to lift Lindsey up to you. She loves you Lord. She tells people how she loves you! Lindsey, this scripture from my favorite book helps remind us that our sacrifices and offerings to God are not a drudgery. I pray that you would be the one it speaks of. That you would be there with your violin, playing a joyful tune or praise and thanksgiving to God just as the Israelites did with the sound of trumpets. May the Lord hear your joyful tune and see your thankful heart. May God come close to you at these times. May you feel his presence with you during your times of offering, sacrifice and special festivals! And we will give the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Godly friends can refresh your heart in times of need

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for differences … how soft is not hard; sweet is not sour; loud is not quiet. And thank you for the scripture for this prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.  Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say. (Philemon 1:20-21)

Lord, I’m here. It’s me again as usual. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter. Lindsey, this scripture is interesting. Paul is writing to his brother in Christ and tells him that he is confident that this brother he is writing to will be more than just obedient and do more than that required. Knowing him like this was refreshing to Paul. He could feel the joy of the Lord by just knowing this other man. Lindsey, I pray this scripture over you from both sides. I pray that you might be like Paul and have many godly people that you have so much confidence in that you know they will be there for you when most needed. I pray that the Lord would fill you with his joy as you interact with them. May your heart be refreshed. But I also pray that you would be like “the other guy”. I pray that others may see you as THEIR godly friend who they can count on during times of great need. I pray that they would feel God’s joy in them even as they merely tell you about their significant need. And together we glorify God. We give all the glory to him. I pray this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

God Gives Grace, Glory and Good Things!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for restoring my health. Thank you for our wonderful bodies that you designed to recover from bumps and scrapes as well as many ailments. And thank you for reminding us of your many good things you hold in store for us, including for your daughter Lindsey:

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:11)

Lord, I’m here. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey who loves you and strives to walk uprightly each and every day. She aims to live with integrity before all those around her and to do what is right. Lindsey, today it is my joy to pray the joy of this scripture over you! Yes indeed! I pray that God would continue to be your sun and your shield … that he would continue to be your protector everywhere you go. I pray that he would grant you a double portion of grace and glory today. I pray that he would bestow favor and honor on you. I pray that he would continue to shower you with his many good gifts that he has in store for you. And we will praise him this day. Sing praises to your God today Lindsey, for he is good. I pray this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Read scripture out loud. Listen to it being read aloud to you!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for creating this magnificent universe just for us. Thank you for the tiny and for the huge. Huge as in stars… and galaxies! And thank you for the scripture to use for this prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. (Revelation 1:3)

Lord, I’m here. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey, your daughter. Lindsey, today’s scripture is interesting in that it seems to talk about having scriptures read out loud! This resonates well with me because for over six years a tiny group of us has been meeting every weekday morning in a coffee shop or restaurant to read scriptures out loud around our table. It is quite amazing how much reading a passage out loud helps … especially if you also hear it read out loud TO YOU! And so that seems to be what I am to pray for. Lindsey, I pray that you will be able to read scriptures out loud with a tiny group that you trust. I pray that you will be able to LISTEN as others in the tiny group read passages of scripture aloud.  I pray that speaking and hearing them will bring you further understanding. I pray that this also will be a way to get together with others regularly with God’s Word! And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

You are a peculiar and special treasure to God

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for my life. Thank you for my breath. Thank you for my beating heart and my mind that is functioning so well. And thank you for your scripture for this prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: (Exodus 19:5)

Lord, it’s me. Yep, I came to sit with you again. And right now I’d like to lift up Lindsey to you. She loves you Lord. She strives to obey your voice and keep your covenant. I ask that today you would show her how she is a peculiar treasure to you. Show her how special she is to you today. And we will give all the glory to you. The glory is all yours Lord. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Seek good so the Lord will be with you

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for musical chords. Thank you for melodies. Thank you for harmony. Thank you for the many sounds that can combine into a pleasing sound we call music. And thank you for this scripture for today’s prayer for Lindsey:

Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph. (Amos 5:14-15)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here as usual to begin another daily prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, since you desire God to be with you, this scripture points out that you simply should seek good and not evil. Hate the evil and love the good. While this is quite simple to say, it can be rather difficult in while you are out in the world. So I pray that the Lord would continue to be your guide to point out the good path before you. I pray that you would clearly see the choices before you to determine the good. I pray that you continue to always seek good. And then I ask God to be with you. I ask God to make his presence with you obvious to you and that it would bring you great joy. Lindsey, your God is gracious. May he clearly be gracious to you this day! And we will give the glory to God. GLORY! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

Do what people want? Or rather do what God wants regardless of the cost?!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for bringing clarity back to my mind. Thank you for promising that I can start each day anew and not have to start where I left off the prior night. Thank you for the day anew with you! And thank you for the scripture to use for this prayer for Lindsey:

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.  And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.  For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.  After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.  And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:  But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.  And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Acts 5:27-42)

Lord, I’m here again on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. She is not afraid to publicly acknowledge Jesus, even though each time it brings a backlash from those watching her. Lindsey, whenever you do this it is significant. People notice when you don’t bow down to public pressure to leave Jesus out of your public life (as if he could be put in a box on a shelf while in the public eye). Lord, I ask that you continue to give Lindsey the courage and strength to keep you in front of her all day long, especially in public. I ask that you grant her the grace she needs to actually rejoice when people put her down for this. I ask that you fill her with your joy and that your joy would make her strong. And we will give you the glory. Glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

May God give you wisdom, discretion and understanding

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for watching over me during the night. Thank you for giving me a restful sleep. Thank you for waking me up this morning. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God. Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. (1 Chronicles 22:12-13)

Lord, here I am again. I’m here on behalf of Lindsey. She loves you Lord. You have placed her in the eyes of the world so I ask that you also grant her a double portion of wisdom, discretion and understanding. Help her to notice when she starts to wander a bit off of the path you set before her. Since so many people are watching her, I ask that you help her to know when things are appropriate and when they are not. And I ask that you give her understanding so that she may understand all that is going on around her. And we will give you the glory Lord. The glory is all yours. GLORY! I ask this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen (more…)

KJV translation note

The King James Version is a beautiful translation of the original Hebrew and Greek, however I sometimes find Old English hard to understand fully. 1 or 2 other translations can help clarify what it is saying so I can understand it.
